There’s something wrong with my laptop — again. What the hell … it was working fine this morning, and I didn’t download anything new or use the air duster (which probably fried it last time) … yet after about five minutes of running it gets incredibly slow and eventually freezes. The “thinking” sound it makes goes on and off 1 or 2 times a second at a steady pace, and I’ve gotten the blue screen like 5 times today. Plus, my anti-spyware and anti-virus programs didn’t find anything *sigh* Running iTunes, downloading a .smzip file, and having a couple Firefox and folder windows open shouldn’t screw up a computer with 448 MB of RAM. Now I’m scared to do anything that requires a lot of memory
Not again.

Saturday, April 30, 2005 @ 1:12 pm Hey thanks, I actually just had the fan replaced, so I’m hoping that’s not the problem. Though I haven’t had any freezes in the past day, I’ll be calling support if anything else happens.
Also, the laptop is almost always on my desk, so venting shouldn’t be a problem …

This sounds like a classic case of a heat dispersion problem. You need to have a tech crack the case and make sure that all fans internally are fully functional.
Also make sure that you are putting the laptop in a place where it can vent properly.
I will write you a whole list of helpful tips if you wish…
