Solitaire.

Arrow Thursday, March 29, 2007 @ 9:49 pm

I just got my highest score ever in solitaire: a 730! This beats my previous record of 715 (which happened in like high school), and was obtained using the “draw one” method and standard scoring in an untimed game. I also didn’t have to click the neon green circle to go through the deck again at all, which saved 100 points. LOL go me.

Edit: According to the comments on this site, the highest score possible with the above criteria is 745 — sweet! Now the challenge is actually reaching that.

Cars behaving badly.

Arrow Monday, March 26, 2007 @ 11:08 am

Last night on 81 on my drive back to Harrisonburg, there was a Porsche (I think) in the left lane going slow and not caring, so I passed him on the right ’cause there was an even slower truck coming up. But that was only the beginning. For the next 20 minutes or so, the Porsche and I played leap-frog: I’d pass him, get several hundred feet ahead, then he’d speed up and either stay beside me or get right in front of me, close enough that I had to brake a little bit or get in the other lane. The weird part was that I had cruise control on and going 75ish the whole way … couldn’t figure out why the Porsche had such a large speed range. Either he was drunk, had little experience on the highway/with the car, or was trying to tell me something (couldn’t see his face ’cause of the way the car was shaped). He finally exited/slowed way down after I looked over for a few seconds during one of his flanking maneuvers and tried to figure out wtf he was doing :???:

I’ll have to make a list of the questionable things I’ve seen on 81/66 when I’m done at JMU.

Verbalocity.

I’m currently #59 on the 100 Most Prolific Bloggers list! Probably won’t be on there for long since there have to be more people out there with at least 1,000 posts (are you one of them?), but yeah, it’s still cool — sometimes I forget that 6 active years in the blogging world has a bit more meaning than that of real life

What the hell. Yesterday it was 75 degrees and sunny — now it’s snowing (and sticking)

Girl on film.

Arrow Friday, March 9, 2007 @ 11:04 pm

Okay. That took way too long, and I’m still not done, but I’ve finally reached a stopping point after spending all week updating my gallery (mostly just taking pictures of my non-digital art and organizing the crap out of everything). I also realized 2 really annoying flaws of Coppermine:

  1. The order of pictures in albums has to be set globally, and you can’t set a custom order for the few that don’t match the majority (it’s currently only a per-user and per-session thing … wtf).
  2. There’s no way to rename uploaded images.

This meant that in my flurry of activity, I forgot to name files in the order I’d originally created them, and as a result had to delete my whole portfolio, rename each file locally, and then reupload. And lose all my descriptions, view totals, and ratings, which = blah. Hopefully this post will bring back some of what I’ve lost?

All I need to do now is scan a couple autographs and export some jpegs on-campus (my laptop doesn’t have certain expensive fonts and is too slow for the trial version of InDesign), and then take pictures and scan a few things at home, and then I should be done. Oh yeah, and see if I can find any of my art that’s mysteriously not where I thought it was …

WordPress 2.1.2.

Arrow Tuesday, March 6, 2007 @ 11:44 am

I know I’m late posting this, but I upgraded as soon as I saw the news in my dashboard, so at least that part is taken care of. Anyway, version 2.1.1 is dangerous, so if you haven’t gotten the new version yet, hop to it.
