Simsless.

Whyyyy does The Sims keep freezing? No matter how many times I restart, or let my computer cool off, or download the latest driver for my display (which I did months ago, but I don’t think it helped) … The Sims hate me  It worked a few days ago, but now I can’t play for more than 5 seconds and it’s annoying, especially since I don’t have anything to do tonight *sigh*

Edit: I got it to work, I just had to restart from scratch (i.e. delete the “EA Games” folder in My Documents) and lose my custom neighborhoods, families, etc. I actually think a file or two was corrupted — the “Caliente” family had been frozen for months.

TS1 or TS2 ?
What expansions do you have installed and what are your computer stats?

It’s possible the processor gets too hot and therefor freezes. It kept happening to me when i was playing World of Warcraft.

Dismantle the cabinet and see how much your fans are covered with dustbunnies.

I have the Sims 2 with no expansions, and I play on an HP laptop. But see my update above … I found one way to fix it.
