I read about the guy with the red paper clip awhile ago, but didn’t think he’d reach his goal so quickly (especially for such a simple concept). So yay to him.

Is it just me, or have they stopped making the Adidas “Adilette” sandals? They’re really comfortable and I remember them being popular in middle/high school (I even had the cheap Payless version lol) … so what happened? They aren’t available on the Adidas website and my grandpa went to 13 different stores (in NYC, no less, which is supposed to have everything) before finding the right one for my birthday. Why’d they stop making a classic?

I think I’m getting a cold … in the summer My nose is a little stuffed up, I have a little cough, and my throat is a little sore. Emphasis on little … so if I do have a cold it’s nothing big (yet), but it’s still noticeable/annoying. Meh.

Got a reckless driving ticket this morning on my way to Harrisonburg. I was going up a hill and going a few mph under 80, but then on the way down I noticed I was above 80 and started braking to slow down. As I did this I noticed an unmarked cop in the right lane and before I knew it, blue lights were in my rearview mirror.

I don’t have a lot of experience dealing with cops or knowing what to say … so I told him I didn’t realize I was going 83 (which I kicked myself for, as I pulled away, since it was probably the most-heard excuse ever). The officer also didn’t care that it was my birthday or I’d never gotten a speeding ticket before. I thought I’d just have to pay a fine, but no — he dumps reckless on me and pretty much ruins my day. And why the hell are court dates always on a day I have class? Not to mention this one is in frickin’ Woodstock (halfway between Harrisonburg and Fairfax)? Ugh. I’ve been freaking out ’cause I don’t want my license suspended or go to jail, but after doing some research I’ve come to the conclusion that because I was going 83 in a 65 mph zone (instead of 90 or 100), have a mostly clean driving record, and wasn’t endangering myself or others/going fast on purpose, I’ll probably get the offense lowered from reckless to normal speeding, go to driving school, and pay a fine

At least lots of people have been wishing me a happy birthday (more than ever before) and my grandma sent me a package from Talbots. Now if only it’d stop raining …
