Today, for the first time ever, I put 10 gallons of gas into my car.
I know that’s not a big deal for you SUV/new car owners, but hear me out: when my mom drove my car, she kept logs of how much gas she put in, how much it cost, etc., and never went above 10. Same with my dad. We’ve both gotten to 9.9, but never 10. On my way back to Harrisonburg today I thought I could make it between the Sheetz at exits 173 and 147 (hate getting gas elsewhere unless I absolutely have to). I started to worry a bit when the needle went below E lol, but luckily I got to the pump in time … and learned that my tank was bigger than I thought:

Most cars can go a few miles once the needle hits the dreaded E for empty. I always thought it should be a W for walk.
$2.89 a gallon for gas? Wow. It’s been over $3.00 a gallon here in California forever it seems.
I have a photo that I took back in November 2002 of a gas pump. The price was $1.89 a gallon and back then I thought that was high. I miss 2002 gas prices.
