Johari Window.

Arrow Tuesday, February 14, 2006 @ 5:25 pm

I was reading through my feed list and came across 2 posts from 2 different people about their Johari Windows. Curious about the unveiling of another cool web thingie, I checked it out. Turns out the Johari Window was invented in the 1950s, and is now an interactive page where your blog visitors can pick words they think describe you from a list of 55 adjectives. When enough people do this, you get an idea of what you’re really like! See mine here — and use it, even if you only know me a little bit

Happy Valentine’s Day to me.

Arrow Tuesday, February 14, 2006 @ 3:47 pm

Well, that was a sucky experience. Just got back from my assessment test and, like all the other tests I’ve taken in that lab, was the last one to finish. Now in addition to the headache I have from staring at the computer for 2 1/2 hours answering hundreds of stupid questions on stupid subjects like “how do you interact with people?” and “let’s see how much you know about theater,” I also feel really dumb. Yeah I major in art, but the people who put these tests together clearly assume everyone is an English, math, or science major. There were 7 tests in all ranging from 5 - 60 minutes in length, and I couldn’t even complete the 60-minute one with 100+ questions *sigh* At least the nice old proctor guy (who’s been there for years and witnessed me being the last to finish before) said that I won his “perseverance award” and gave me a bag of candy for Valentine’s Day. Speaking of which, I got a package from Brian today from ThinkGeek and he’s nowhere to be found (he drilled it into my skull to call him while I open it lol). I had an idea of what it is, but can’t be too sure

More spam, less ink, snow.

Arrow Monday, February 13, 2006 @ 8:33 pm

Blah, why is more and more spam getting through Akismet?

Note to self: never try to print a 100+ page document in “best” quality when you only have a couple hours to do it. I’m barely halfway through now, it’s been printing since like 6, and if I stay I’m gonna be here ’til 10 *sigh* Good thing I can sleep in tomorrow. Oh yeah, and I have a lot of stupid ceramics to do by Wednesday, and I don’t feel like getting my hands scraped up on the wheel again

We got about 6 inches of snow in both Fairfax and Harrisonburg last night, and while everything was closed in Fairfax, Harrisonburg went on with life like nothing was wrong. WTF. A 4-day weekend would’ve been nice.

Evil OS X, part 2.

Arrow Friday, February 10, 2006 @ 1:39 pm

I am thisclose to setting my work computer on fire — Photoshop keeps shutting down on me for no reason when I try to save something for the web, and it’s getting annoying. At least I had most of my changes saved, and the ones I lost were easy to redo … maybe it needs to be reformatted.

How much is too much?

Arrow Tuesday, February 7, 2006 @ 11:15 pm

Went to Ikraam’s tonight to fix his FTP and collect my check, but then he kept asking me if I’d start this company with him (for like 1 1/2 hours … only spent 10 minutes doing actual work). I basically said no ’cause I wasn’t sure if I’d have time, like it, etc. Yeah I *might* make some money and yeah he *did* pay me, but for some reason it doesn’t feel right. If he wasn’t clueless about coding and web design and how to work a computer, I might reconsider … but for someone who works all day doing trading and nothing else, and has no idea how the internet works and what people do and don’t like, working with him would be more of a headache than anything else. He seems like a nice guy, but he goes off on these tangents and asks you random questions (i.e., “what do you want to be when you grow up?”) and how different it is to live in Virginia than in New York and why he stopped being a fashion designer — when all I want to do is go in, do what I came for, chat for maybe 5 - 10 minutes, and leave. I don’t have time for an hour-long conversation. He’d make a good professor, I’ll give him that. Ugh. I hope this doesn’t make me sound like a horrible person.

Not Kept anymore.

Arrow Tuesday, February 7, 2006 @ 6:40 pm

No one’s joined my Kept fanlisting since October — that’s gotta be a sign to close it. Yeah I have fanlistings that aren’t too popular, and I hate closing them down, but why waste space when no one’s interested? Same goes for DSW which was opened weeks ago … how can there be no fans? :???:

Sunday night I was driving back to JMU (after the Superbowl) and from exits 40 to 18 on 66, I only saw and passed one car, which is rare for an 11 pm trip (81 had a normal amount of traffic). I also kept seeing shapes in the moonlit clouds … one was a question mark, and the other was a skull. Kinda cool.

Why I don’t like eBay, part 2.

Arrow Monday, February 6, 2006 @ 8:38 pm

It’s not that hard: a $5 item (that barely weighs anything) from Australia should NOT constitute $18 in shipping  I politely emailed the seller about it, so we’ll see what she has to say.
