*sigh* We were this close to having a third roommate … but now she doesn’t want to live in an old house. WTF — people need to make up their minds faster and stop leading us on
I just hope we can find someone soon, ’cause I really don’t want to pay $375/month for rent when it could be $125 lower.

This is definitely a rare day: it’s 6:20 pm and there are no jobs running and no jobs due on Monday. I’m pretty much in shock — usually it’s either crazy around this time or people are just finishing up for the day. Only thing that sucks is I’m by myself with nothing to do, and Derek’s gone home (I think) so I can’t talk to him to pass the time. Meh.
I found the most anti-me article ever, except I’m thinking about doing what it says. Check out Why an Unmade Bed Is Healthier … since I take like 49204 allergy medications, I figured it might not be a bad idea
Stupid fly, go back to your home! LOL.

Why is Firefox 1.0.6 out like a week after the release of 1.0.5? Apparently it’s to “restore API compatibility for extensions and web applications that did not work in Firefox 1.0.5.” Fair enough … go download it.

Even though I only worked the usual 8 - 8 1/2 hours today, it still felt like 11. I think I’m getting tired of the whole print shop thing. Yeah it’s fun sometimes, like when you have a slow day and everyone’s happy — but then five o’clock rolls around and you realize that tomorrow will be hell and you end up doing overtime. It’s like this never ending cycle and I don’t know how people get used to it. I just hate being tired all the time and going through the same motions (printing, binding, finishing) over and over again. And AOL’s badging office is a joke — I keep hearing about more and more temps and employees who’ve been there for months and are still in my boat. I guess AOL is a cool place to be … just not when you’re at the end of the food chain (aka IKON). Good thing I get a couple hours off tomorrow for my doctor appt.
I got the last of my birthday presents today! Here’s what I got from Brian’s mom:
- Gap gift certificate
- chocolate dollar bills
- duck Pez
- duck soap
- duck bath mitt
- duck bubble blower
The present-opening process was definitely fun … yay for duckies ![]()

Fuck — it’s 1:30 am and I totally forgot about JVDS’s account move that was supposed to happen at 1 (see the next paragraph for why). If they remembered and did whatever they were gonna do, I wouldn’t know since my site’s still up and they didn’t contact me … so I’m guessing they forgot (big surprise). Why do they have to keep changing and moving random things and inconveniencing people? Not all hosts do that, and if they keep it up much longer, I just might start looking for a better service. Yeah JVDS is great and all (especially the price), but I hate having to email VAServ Support or ask Brian for help everytime they want to “fix” something. Grr.
My grandpa is awesome. Not only did his birthday presents come today, but he also included the birthday pictures he took and a present from Uncle Chris and Mary: My Blue Heaven. Dunno why they got the VHS version of something I’ve never heard of, but I’ll give it a try. Supposedly it’s a comedy … knowing my uncle, it’s probably good.
Is it a bad sign when your last four posts and at least one of your dreams every night are work-related? Last night’s dream, for example, consisted of a guy with a gun shooting people, the fire alarm going off, and me running around outside trying to figure out what was wrong. I can’t believe I’m saying this after only three weeks, but I think I need a vacation!

There are two things I hate at work: people who call big jobs in at 6 pm and expect them to be ready before noon the next day, and making copies of hard copies — especially when I have to take staples and paper clips out and then frickin’ put them back in two-fold
At least Selina was nice and made 15 copies of an 86-page document (including punching and binding) due at 8:30 am before she left. And what the hell is a VSD file? Hopefully it can be converted to a PDF … oh yeah, and two of our three color printers keep breaking when things get busy (like now) — frickin’ joy. Guess I’ll be staying past 7 after all.

So tired (even though I overslept). So ready to get out of here. Coffee somehow got me through the day, but even caffeine couldn’t keep me from wanting to fall asleep *yawn* Talked to Derek for like a freakin’ hour (definitely helped pass the time) since he’d had a slow day, but now it’s just me and the printers ’til 7. Blah … must go collate tabs.
