Cricket, biking.

Arrow Thursday, June 23, 2005 @ 1:59 am

Ew. There’s a cricket like 5 feet away from me *shudder* And Mackie’s trying to catch it … lol … but he gave up and is now chewing on a box

I need a frickin’ bike rack for my car. I’m tired of trying to maneuver and lift my bike (which is kinda heavy and barely fits anyway) into my little station wagon. Tonight I scratched up a couple knuckles while getting Brian’s bike out (making it harder to type) … hopefully doing the same tomorrow won’t be as bad.

Went on a very short (3.6 mile) ride today at Bull Run, but then it started thunderstorming so we had to go. I was sad ’cause I love riding in the rain (which stopped like right after we left) … then again, don’t wanna get hit by lightning.

My new favorite TV shows are “30 Days” (Morgan Spurlock is awesome) and “Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction”

Soul quiz.

Soul quiz
As if you were born into a world of tears, you always tend to look at the darker things in life. Inside you crave attention yet push away society, and you’re a hopeless romantic. Drawn to things like the occult and mysteries, you spend your time daydreaming. What type of soul do you have?

Random joke.

Arrow Tuesday, June 21, 2005 @ 5:56 pm

Found this at another site. LOL:

A little boy goes to his mother and asks,”Mom, is God black or white?” His mother replies,”He’s neither black nor white.” Next the boy asks,”Is God a man or a woman?” “He is neither a man nor a woman, dear,” his mother replies. Finally the boy asks,”Mom, is it true that God loves all the children of the Earth?” His mother smiles and says,”Yes, son, this is true.” Still puzzled the boy thinks for a moment and asks,”Mom, is God Michael Jackson?”

Cooking, Ubuntu.

Arrow Monday, June 20, 2005 @ 10:29 pm

So I was bored and decided to “cook” a little dinner for me. I cut up some celery and green peppers I found in the fridge, sprinkled oregano, parsley, soy sauce, salt, pepper, minced onions and garlic on them, and then heated it in the microwave for a minute. Yeah I know it’s nothing fancy, but since I usually either go out, am cooked for, or eat packaged meals, it’s a step up. And it was yummy. Definitely gonna make that again

I also tried and failed to install Ubuntu on my old laptop today. After deciding to delete my slow, annoying XP partition and going through the first part of setup, after the CD eject it just stopped. Text came up on the screen about booting from the Linux kernal, which is all fine and dandy, but not when it only takes up half the screen with the last entry, “boot” and a blinking cursor, showing for hours on end. I don’t get it … and I must be really stupid ’cause I can’t find any worthwhile documentation on the Ubuntu site :???: Yeah … welcome to another episode of me screwing up.

Watch death, old laptop.

Arrow Monday, June 20, 2005 @ 2:02 am

Okay that’s just weird. Last night my gray watch died, and then tonight I picked up my silver one to make sure its time was right, but no — it’s broken too! WTF? Now all I have is the cheap, “leather” one I got at Wal-Mart a few months ago ’cause I wanted a black watch lol. Then again, a new watch would be a nice addition to my way-too-short birthday list, which I needed to send to my grandpa like last week. I should get on that tomorrow.

Know what else? I’m typing this from my old laptop in my room. I don’t get it … I’ve been uninstalling stuff for the past couple hours in preparation for Ubuntu, and all of a sudden it’s “working” again. I haven’t gotten the evil white screen, for some reason the wireless works (yet it’s screwy on my newer one), and I have Service Pack 2 installed :???: I should probably start bringing this thing to JMU as a backup since the new one is about as reliable as a cheap watch  Plus, if the external hard drive keeps doing what it’s been doing (behaving like it should), everything will be peachy.

Visiting Greenbelt.

Arrow Sunday, June 19, 2005 @ 2:40 pm

Went to Justin’s party last night, and it actually wasn’t that bad. Most of the people were nice, Justin hadn’t really changed in 3 1/2 years (when we last dated lol), and when Brian started a game of Spades with Rob and some people, I started winning (which was cool since I’d only played once before)! I also drank 3/4 of a cup of jungle juice and despite its strength, didn’t get drunk — only slightly buzzed. Maybe my tolerance is increasing? *shrugs* I wish Neil had shown up, though … don’t know if he knew I’d be there, but it still would’ve been nice to finally meet after all our long IM conversations junior year. James didn’t show either, but he’s not as important

Anyway, right now I’m editing some of my dad’s pictures from Spain in Photoshop as a gift for Father’s Day … hopefully they won’t suck and hopefully he’ll like them. If you’re lucky I’ll post the before & after pictures later.
