Spring ‘05 grades.

Arrow Wednesday, May 11, 2005 @ 10:21 am

These were posted about 15 minutes ago … and … drumroll:

ART 260: B
BIO 114: C
GARTH 205: B-
GRPH 243: A

Guess all that hoping for a decent biology grade paid off :) So yay … my crappy GPA has risen four tenths of a point to 2.8. Now I just have to keep doing that.

WordPress 1.5.1.

Arrow Tuesday, May 10, 2005 @ 11:17 am

The latest version of WordPress is out! Now the trick will be to see if this crappy PC can handle the majority of site updates until my laptop gets fixed. Note: read this support thread before starting.

Edit: Wow, that was a fast upgrade — took me five minutes :) There is, however, a bug with RSS feeds: use this patch to fix it.

Google, Connecticut.

Arrow Friday, May 6, 2005 @ 11:27 pm

Google’s My Search History saves all the searches you make in Google and even lets you see a day-by-day breakdown of your search terms. I probably won’t use it much, but I’m sure others will swear by it.

Going to Connecticut tomorrow for my grandma’s birthday and Mother’s Day. It should be alright, except the coldness and rain will really suck. Then if I’m lucky I’ll start work on Monday, but if not, I’ll just hang around … maybe go to Foxcroft with Sookie and Julie Thursday, and then there’s the DSA concert Thursday night. We’ll see.

My computer’s still fried … working on this slow Windows 98 PC that can barely handle decent programs is taking its toll. And the longer my laptop sits around, the more I just want to give up — I have so much to do with my songs and my sites, I’m running out of patience. It’s like I have to know what’s wrong with my computer (isn’t that Support’s job?) … if I don’t, the problem doesn’t get fixed, and each time a week is added to how long I have to wait. It shouldn’t take three tries to fix a problem, and it’s fucking annoying. Support is called “support” for a reason … I don’t even want to think about what a person knowing less about computers than me has to go through *sigh* I wish I didn’t feel so crappy … but when certain events and people continue to bug me, all I want to do is disappear and start over.

Am I missing something?

Arrow Thursday, May 5, 2005 @ 11:58 am

So … my computer still isn’t fixed. What the hell is wrong with HP? Don’t they check what they do to make sure the product works before sending it back to the customer? And if they replaced the fan, why else would it be doing this?

It’s over.

Arrow Tuesday, May 3, 2005 @ 10:37 am

Sophomore year is finally over. Art history was okay, though I’ll probably get a lower grade than the midterm since my mind went blank on two identification problems. I’m not even 100% sure about the other three, but oh well … what’s done is done, and I did what I could. The essays went fine, I just hate writing for so long, especially when it takes up three blue books. I wish we could bring our own computers, type our exams, and then wirelessly print them in the professor’s office. That would be a lifesaver, but alas.

Ran into John as I was walking back, which was nice since I haven’t seen him all year. Said he went skydiving last semester in a different country (forget which one), and that he absolutely loved it. I gotta go again before I leave JMU, and this time I’ll have someone to go with — yay.

I can’t believe it’s summer. School has dragged on for so long … and getting up this morning was so hard, but at least I got through evil art history. Glad that subject is done with. Now I’m just sitting in TDU wondering if I should get a chai latte or just wait until the lunch places open in a half hour. And I saw like ten baby ducks on my way over here … aww.

Picked up my art portfolio yesterday, and discovered I have a B as my final grade. I’m kinda surprised, but then again I missed more than my two allowed classes — I was hoping he wouldn’t care, but oh well. My dad was happy, and that’s pretty much all that matters. Speaking of grades, JMU earned another plus in my book for only sending grades electronically next semester. No more paper notifications sent home unless I sign a form (not happening) and no more trees killed for sending two sets of grades to one place. Cool.

The bookstore wouldn’t take my huge, 50-pound biology book back that probably would’ve earned me $20 - 30 in cash. Meh … I knew I should’ve taken it in yesterday. I’m also debating turning in my Quark book … no one uses Quark 4 anymore, so why hang on to the book?

Bad HP.

Arrow Sunday, May 1, 2005 @ 9:43 pm

I’ll be computer-less this week (second time in a month), thanks to the “new” fan that HP installed a mere 3 weeks ago — it broke already (see problem below). I just hope they don’t erase my hard drive this time … though I have most of my files backed up, it really sucks having to install and configure everything again *sigh* I thought HP was good.
