Firefox passed their 50,000,000th download yesterday at 8:58 am PST. Congrats!

There’s something wrong with my laptop — again. What the hell … it was working fine this morning, and I didn’t download anything new or use the air duster (which probably fried it last time) … yet after about five minutes of running it gets incredibly slow and eventually freezes. The “thinking” sound it makes goes on and off 1 or 2 times a second at a steady pace, and I’ve gotten the blue screen like 5 times today. Plus, my anti-spyware and anti-virus programs didn’t find anything *sigh* Running iTunes, downloading a .smzip file, and having a couple Firefox and folder windows open shouldn’t screw up a computer with 448 MB of RAM. Now I’m scared to do anything that requires a lot of memory ![]()

Thanks to c|net, I found yet another hidden feature of Google: Zeitgeist. With it, you can “search patterns, trends, and surprises,” and with the stats updated weekly, the most popular keywords in sports, women, men, nature, cartoons, bands, games, etc., are always changing.

Woke up at 6:45. Turned in art portfolio to empty room (no idea why the professor wasn’t there) — hopefully it was the right one. Spent two hours fixing (why can’t the labs here have the same fonts?) and printing my newsletter. Tried to take a nap … didn’t really work. Got lunch. Put together my newsletter … looks okay, just wish we could’ve printed on 2 sides of one 11 x 17 sheet instead of on 1 side of four. Meh. Put together graphics portfolio. Went to class. Bought blue books for art history. Came back. Drove to Dayton to sign lease (met LJ and Sarah/Starza too). Did errands at Wal-Mart. Got dinner. Fussed online with DWI and iTunes (screwed up some songs in the process *sigh* … I hate when things aren’t labeled properly … re-do time yet again). Showered. Online again.
Blah, forgot about EMC meeting (last one this year). Oh well … maybe if it wasn’t all the frickin’ way across campus I’d be more motivated to go.
Not much else is new … trying to not fall asleep. Probably gonna read Health before talking to Brian and passing out for what will hopefully be a good night’s sleep (haven’t had one in awhile). Yeah.

Nice. This screenshot generator shows you what your site looks like in Safari, MacIE, and Mozilla for Macintosh no matter what kind of computer you have (no more going to the labs for me!) — here’s this site in Safari:

I wonder how it works?

Got my yearbook today (don’t know how it can be free), and even though I’m not in it (yeah I’m a slacker), Hanson is! At the Michael Tolcher and Gavin DeGraw concert on October 26, 2004, one fan was highlighted:
Freshman Kathryn D., who came with her sister said, “I knew of Michael Tolcher before Gavin DeGraw. I saw him with Hanson last summer … I saw a poster for this concert and decided to come.”
So yay, thought that was cool (especially since Kathryn’s from Springfield, so we may have both been at the Warner Theater and didn’t know it
).

*sigh* I hate USB 2.0. Tried 3 different cards from 2 different companies and I don’t know why the stupid “NEC PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller B1″ won’t show up (all I have is the NEC Open Host Controller). Is that a Service Pack 2-only feature or something? Whatever, I don’t want to deal with it anymore … I’ll return the card this weekend (again), try to forget about the whole thing, and wish computers didn’t hate me ![]()
