Flash Flash Revolution.

Arrow Saturday, March 19, 2005 @ 2:36 pm

I just found an online Flash version of Dance Dance Revolution that requires no software download — yay! Just what I need: another reason to procrastinate  The only downside is that I can barely do light mode (which is easy for me on a pad), but oh well.

WordPress 1.5 theme.

Arrow Saturday, March 19, 2005 @ 1:13 am

Meet Starburst: my first theme for WordPress which will also be entered into the WordPress 1.5 Themes Competition in a few days. The deadline is Friday, and I can’t wait to see the results since so many awesome themes have been sent in — thus, feedback and comments on Starburst are greatly appreciated  Thanks!

Quick note: Starburst will be available for download soon (definitely by the 25th), so keep checking back.

Are you wearing green?

Arrow Thursday, March 17, 2005 @ 10:55 am

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I don’t even know if I have any green, but oh well … at least my eyes are lol. Check out Google’s celebratory logo:

St. Patrick's Day by Google

I’ve decided to enter a theme (not this one) into the WordPress 1.5 Themes Competition. I figured, hey, with all the time I spend on my own site, why not give back a little and, if I work hard enough, maybe even win a prize? It’s not finished yet, but it will be in the next couple days — I’ll then post the link and eagerly await comments

Lots to do.

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth complete sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don’t search around and look for the “coolest” book you can find. Do what’s actually next to you.

“In the Doric frieze, flat areas called metopes alternate with projecting blocks with three vertical grooves called triglyphs.” –Art History by Marilyn Stokstad, which I’ve opened like twice

Blah, I’m muy tired. Lab took forever and was rushed (also got a 73 on my practical exam … average was 78). Art history was long, and putting together a bibiography for Thursday is gonna suck, especially with the techno club meeting tomorrow night (if I even go). Wish I could skip computer graphics and sleep

Yeah.

New layout. Dunno why, but a few hours ago I just got tired of the blue stars (they’d been up since mid-December), and since I wanted to learn rounded corners in Photoshop and clean up my CSS, I figured why not. I hope you like it, but if not, stick around — either themes or another new layout will happen eventually.

Didn’t do much today. Went to all my classes … painted a little … checked mail … was gonna go to UREC and get dinner, but got distracted online  Luckily, I’m pretty much done, and really need to shower and finish painting before bed. Tomorrow is lab, where we dive into the wonderful world of plants and hopefully get our practical exams back.

Aw, Jessica’s cat died. Found that out when Amanda asked her how she was earlier. We never talk anymore, but oh well, at least I try. Can’t wait ’til I have my own room next year.

Update at 12:38 am: I just realized a section of black line around the edge is about 10 pixels misaligned in IE because IE screws up padding/margins. Anyone know a workaround? It looks perfect in Firefox.

Yahoo Avatars are fun (except you need IE). Check out the avatar version of me:

AOL Eavesdrops, Grants Itself Permission to Steal Your AIM Conversations — wtf? Not like I talk about anything important, but still … bad AOL.

This is my 1,111th post!

Now for the cabin recap. It was mostly fun. The scenery was beautiful and I hope to go back sometime. I “let loose” and ate more junk food than usual (Coke, Swiss Cake Rolls, Fudge Rounds, Cheetos, french toast sticks, etc.) and drank (but didn’t get drunk). A sweet husky dog we named Cookie came to visit us a couple times a day  We cooked steak, burgers, and hot dogs outside. Then we roasted marshmallows. Jason and Jasmeen’s inMotion speakers for their iPods provided ample music and their Playstation provided entertainment (board/card games did the rest). Everyone except Brian and I got to go in the hot tub, which kinda sucked … but I guess when guys get drunk (especially Matt) and the girls don’t care, previous plans don’t matter. I realized that driving a stick on a mountain is a challenge, and that Luray Caverns is closer to JMU than I thought. I had the most fun up until last night … then it slowly went downhill. But that’s no one’s fault — my getting comfortable with people (and staying that way) is hard.
