Power to the Powers.

Cash register guy at Festival after looking at my JACard: “My buddies and I were talking the other day about the coolest last name to have, and this was it.” I was like awesome

The above image was created with amaztype, a typographic book search that uses Amazon.com merchandise. If nothing else, try it for the cool animated building process!

WordPress, Inc.

Eep … announcing WordPress, Incorporated:

Matt Mullenweg, who, besides celebrating over a hundred thousand Wordpress downloads, announced today the formation of Wordpress, Inc … Matt also announced that the first hire by Wordpress will be the inimitable Jonas Luster, International Man of Mystery.

At least it’s still free for us non-corporate users.

Under the weather.

I’m all sniffly and sneezy today, which is weird because I don’t feel sick and I’m taking 2 different allergy medicines. Maybe my Flonase is running low, but it didn’t do this before. Also wish I could take a nap … even though I got 7 of sleep hours last night, I’m still really tired  I’m so glad art tomorrow morning is canceled.

Got my housing application for next year, so yay for that. Got more books for my art history project from interlibrary loan (first time I’ve used it, so I’m glad it works). Also got my topic proposal back with like half my sources questioned — wtf? If a bibliography from the National Gallery’s website isn’t a good place to start, I don’t know what is

Anyway, must go find some caffeine and drag myself to computer graphics. Blah.

Another busy day.

Arrow Monday, March 21, 2005 @ 4:16 pm

Doing the following on 5 1/2 hours of sleep is tiring: class, art store, Staples, CVS, lunch, class, Warren, Duke lab, and whatever else is to follow. At least I don’t have to go anywhere else except dinner.

The computer labs at JMU (especially Duke) suck — they’re so confusing. I just spent like $3 trying to print a $0.50 color graphic on 11 x 17 paper for tomorrow *sigh* Oh well … at least I’ve sort of figured it out now. Need to find a way to carry it too.

And I wish I lived in San Francisco … there’s a WordPress party tomorrow because the download counter has hit and passed 100,000 (which is awesome), but no. The DC WordPressers are slackers

A new Flickr, etc.

Arrow Sunday, March 20, 2005 @ 11:39 pm

Happy Palm Sunday/first day of spring.

Well, this was a pretty busy weekend: Saturday was brunch with Ross and my dad, dinner at Damon’s Grill for Brian’s dad’s birthday, and the Globetrotters (funny show). Today was Easter dinner (a week early due to travel plans and the presence of Matt) at Brian’s parents’ house, homework, and driving back to JMU. I know that probably doesn’t sound like much, but each event was long  I also got an Easter basket!

In web news, Yahoo actually does acquire Flickr … I don’t use it anymore since I host my own photos, but for those who do, I wonder how the switch will go. It was nice for the brief couple weeks I was a member, but alas.

Need to bookmark this: Nifty Corners. Who knew rounded corners could be done without images and CSS?
