FavIcon.

Arrow Thursday, February 17, 2005 @ 9:41 pm

Thanks to this site, I now have a moon FavIcon FavIcon for Universe (prompted by the many favicon.ico errors in my error log). Yay.

I love how I can run my whole site through the new version of WordPress

Release the dragonfly.

RIP my pretty Valentine’s Day flowers

I dunno why, but after computer graphics today I felt really happy … maybe it was the combination of the critique, chocolate milk, Photoshop, and techno and Savage Garden songs playing as I walked back that did it … either way, it was nice

I also FINALLY think I have WordPress 1.5 down. After 2 days of downloading, tweaking, reading, and trial and error, Universe may seem the same, but don’t be deceived — it has a whole new infrastructure that not only looks better, but has magically kept all comment spam away without plugins. The only thing I’m not looking forward to is upgrading weirdncrazy.com … ick … for some reason I’m never completely satisfied with that site, and it’s annoying.

I really like “Wonder” by Megan McCauley (from the Elektra soundtrack) … the lyrics and music just do something for me:

Caught in a trap of what we’re taught to believe
When night overcomes day life’s so hard to perceive
And the clock keeps on tickin’ through night’s shattered skies
Where the stars are all broken and so are the ties
But the one thing remaining is you
When I’m broken and bleeding you pull me right through

And I can’t help but wonder what it is you do
You help heal the pain and the thoughts of the truth
You’re a question to the universe
A wonder to the world and somehow when I’m with you
There’s nothing I’d rather do than be right there
To escape my whole life and all I fear …

Brand spankin’ new.

Please excuse my very large amount of dust while I upgrade to WordPress 1.5 and figure out how the hell themes and my layouts can work together. But don’t worry, I have everything from before saved if I decide to go back. Thanks!

… bored? Type your name into the Baby NameVoyager to see how many millions of babies have possessed your name since the 1900s (until 2003). It seems pretty thorough — Claire ranks at 95.

Blue Wednesday.

Arrow Wednesday, February 16, 2005 @ 7:26 am

This is what I hate — waking up at my usual time (6:50, which has been fine for the past month), and not being able to get ready because someone else is in the bathroom. I now have less than 5 minutes, meaning I’m not gonna be able to catch the bus, meaning I’ll have to drive, meaning parking is gonna be hell, and I can’t not go because he’s definitely gonna assign us a new project *sigh* What, do I have to set my alarm for 6:30 now? Blah.

On a lighter note, the highly-anticipated WordPress 1.5 is finally out — the only drawback is that it’s gonna take a good amount time to download and configure since all my current files get to be erased. Hmm … guess I’ll find out tonight what everyone’s been talking about.

Edit: The parking people either love me or didn’t check the lot — no ticket for me!

Early V-Day.

Wow I’m really tired for some reason, and don’t know why since I slept in and didn’t do too much today. Oh well. Anyway, I’m back at school now. Was surprised to find 4 people in my room when I walked in, but apparently Jessica has a group project due tomorrow, and they just started tonight. Bad decision in my opinion, but they left before too long.

My desk looks so much prettier with the array of pink and red from Brian for Valentine’s Day  He got me 3 red roses, tart Sweethearts, Russell Stover chocolates, and Valentine Pez (from his mom). What I’ve had so far is yummy, but I doubt it’ll last the week lol. For dinner we went to Sino’s (I got moo shi pork), which was nice … and then his ex, Beth, walks in with her family. He said hi and she came over to talk, during which I felt my face heat up, but dunno why … he wasn’t with her for that long. Still, it was an interesting end to Valentine’s Day. I just wish I’d gotten him something … I thought “no gifts” meant nothing at all …

Interesting day.

First, I got to spend the night with Brian at the Sleep Inn … he actually drove down here (and made me brownies) after realizing how upset I was with him Tuesday night/Wednesday morning

Second, after 15 minutes of art history the power randomly went off for the whole campus — and though it sucked getting my paper back with a gazillion angrily-scribbled errors and a C/C- grade (I couldn’t help it, I was sick) — the electricity decided to be nice and stay off for 45 minutes, thus cancelling the rest of class. So yay.

It might just work.

Just got back from seeing Owen’s house, and it’s actually not that bad. Though it’s a small place and not too pretty from the outside, it looks cozy inside and is heated with oil, which’ll be a new thing for me if I decide to move in. The only downside is it isn’t furnished, meaning I’d have to find a bed, dresser, and a desk, but with Wal-Mart right around the corner it shouldn’t be too hard. Plus, Owen’s really nice — he’s tall (like my brother) and doesn’t look one bit gay to me, but oh well
