I love this song (”Vampire Love” by Ash):
Sub-cult fantasy, vampire love
Carnal sacrifice of the virgin dove
In the midnight court I scent your blood
Innocence drowning in the floodVictorian repression, I fantasize
Chromium lips and metallic eyes
The reverse cowgirl death defies
Virginal sinners tell sadistic liesSoul searching on your knees
The time is always now for eternity
Black death market uniform
Submit unto my kiss and you’ll be rebornSub-cult fantasy, vampire love
Erotic bombshell, she’s the god above
Give me cardinal sin, sensual head
Vapour trail vision, I’m glad I’m deadTonight I want you in my arms
It’s not the end, no
Tonight I place you safe from harm
It’s not the end, no
Tonight I want you in my arms
It’s not the end, no
Tonight I need to feel your charms
It’s not the end, no

I haven’t gotten any spam at Gmail since December 23rd, and the total amount in my spam folder is only 10 (it used to be over 100). So yay for Gmail (and perhaps Spam Poison?)
I forgot my shower comb back in Connecticut, despite my being completely sure that I’d packed everything (and then I almost lost the room key). Blah. It’s not even listed online for some reason … maybe CVS will have it.

Blah … from a survey in Shaune’s blog:
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Claire’s— I never see that woman, anymore. It’s like she doesn’t even care.
*sigh* Even though I go to JMU, partying and getting drunk every night (with people I barely know) isn’t high on my list of activities … then again, it is halfway my fault for not seeing her … it’d just be nice if doing that didn’t involve alcohol. I don’t remember the last time we hung out without it
I need to check out of the Inn soon — today includes breakfast at 10 and then an 8-hour drive that I’m not looking forward to (especially in the uncomfortable back seat of the van). It’s really pretty here with the few inches of snow we got last night, and before we leave I’m definitely taking pictures. See you back in Virginia.

Wow, Christmas is exhausting (especially when you spend the whole day dressed up) … it’s only 9:55 and I’m ready to collapse. Ross and my dad are going to Loomis tomorrow, but I’m not sure if I’m joining them. It’d be nice to go to Staples (or wherever they’re going) to get photo printer stuff, but apparently we’re going to the outlets around here afterwards, so I’ll probably just stick to that — sleeping in tomorrow is sounding really nice.
Today was round 2 of presents, and I made off with some pretty good loot
Here’s the list:
- red Fom pillow (from Ross)
- HR Giger 2005 calendar (from Uncle Chris and Mary)
- money (from Grandma and Bob)
- The Princess Bride DVD (from Uncle Chris and Mary)
- hand-knit burgundy scarf (from Grandma)
- “Call Your Grandma … She Misses You” sign (as a joke for Ross and I to share, from Grandma)
Dad said my present is on the way — he was originally gonna get me a digital camera, but at the last minute talked with Grandpa and realized that wouldn’t be a good idea lol. So if I’m lucky, I just might get the iPod after all, which would frickin’ rock … then again, knowing my dad and the price, I’m not counting on it ![]()

From the busy, exciting streets of Manhatten to the quiet, nature-oriented atmosphere of Chester in little more than a train ride — I wish I could be in both places at once. And I don’t care if the Inn (where I am right now) doesn’t get much business … it’s beautiful here and if they have to close it down I’ll be sad. It kinda makes you enjoy the little things in life.
Tomorrow (well, today) is Christmas, and if my camera batteries don’t die on me I should have a nice documentary to upload for everyone when I get back. Our formal “dinner” is at noon (after sleeping in
), and then the long-anticipated present opening starts around 2. Merry Christmas!

Christmas at my grandpa’s was pretty nice! For my benefit and yours, here’s what I got:
- stocking: jelly beans, picture frames, candle, earrings, and 2 CDs (from Madison Mary)
- Canon digital camera (from Grandpa, Mary, Aunt Ann, and Ed)
- American Beauty DVD (from Grandpa and Mary)
- money (from Grandpa and Mary)
Guess the iPod will have to wait ’til next year
Tomorrow equals leaving New York (aww) and taking the train with Ross, Aunt Ann, and Ed to Connecticut for “real” Christmas with Grandma and Bob.
Now it’s time to play with my new camera!

Amanda read part of this to me at Alliance:
15 things to do at Wal-Mart while your significant other takes their sweet time:
1. Get 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people’s carts when they aren’t looking.
2. Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals.
3. Make a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the restrooms.
4. Walk up to an employee and tell him/her in an official tone, “code 3 in Housewares” … and see what happens.
5. Go the service desk and ask to put a bag of M&M’s on layaway.
6. Move a Caution - Wet Floor sign to a carpeted area.
7. Set up a tent in the camping department and tell other shoppers you’ll invite them in if they’ll bring pillows from the bedding department.
8. When a clerk asks if they can help you, begin to cry and ask, “why can’t you people just leave me alone?”
9. Look right into the security camera, use it as a mirror, and pick your nose.
10. While handling guns in the hunting department, ask the clerk if he knows where the anti-depressants are.
11. Dart around the store suspiciously loudly humming the “Mission Impossible” theme.
12. In the auto department, practice your “Madonna look” using different size funnels.
13. Hide in a clothing rack and when people browse through, say “pick me!”
14. When an announcement comes over the loud speaker, assume the fetal position and scream “no no! It’s those voices again!”
15. Go into a fitting room and shut the door and wait a while. Then yell, very loudly, “there’s no toilet paper in here!”
