So Brian mentioned me transferring to Mason last night, and now I keep thinking about it and wondering why I shouldn’t. I mean, at JMU, I eat alone every day, go home on the weekends, and can only think of two people to call friends. Yeah, there’s others I say hi to in class or around campus, but that’s about the extent of the relationship. What’s more, Doron is probably transferring, leaving me with next to no one. So, why not … they have a graphic design major:
Pros: Mason
- cheaper
- 10 minutes from home
- closer to Dad/real friends
- civilization
- lots of commuters
Cons: Mason
- confusing campus
- taking US History again
Pros: JMU
- prettier
- good food
- UREC
Cons: JMU
- 2 hours away
- annoying sorority girls
- dorm life
- taking the bus everywhere
- art classes suck
- no cell reception in my room
- frickin’ 11% sales tax
Then again, I don’t know if I wanna live with Dad (like he’d let me transfer in the first place) … or if I’d regret leaving *sigh* Guess things won’t be falling into place anytime soon. Well, time to go slave over work and try not to think about Brian …

Happy 26th birthday to Brian. Even though you got really drunk for the 496825th time last night, I still love you …
Happy 1st partially-closed school day of the year, thanks to Hurricane Jeanne. Two less days of art history = reason to celebrate. So what did I do to celebrate? Showered, did laundry, and put more songs on iTunes. Also need to read. But I think the rain’s subsiding, so school will most likely be on for tomorrow unless the flooded and overflowing creek, ISAT ponds, and street by the bookstore do some damage.
I went through the Duke’s Mixes songs and managed to either name or delete all but 24 of them. I so need a track list. Why didn’t whoever made the songs include one in the first place?
So animation just got 100 times easier. We’re almost done with Maya (my final scene’s due Tuesday), and now we’re on Photoshop, which I pretty much know by heart after four years of use. And even though there *are* commands and keyboard shortcuts that I don’t know, at least learning them won’t drive me crazy. We’re in the beginning stages of modeling a human head, which will be interesting since I chose to do mine instead of some random or famous person. Know what’s funny? My Photoshop version is newer than the one in the lab (how often does that happen), so now I don’t have to trek over there to work on projects unless they’re integrated with the other programs. Cool.
Aw early Hanson. Haven’t heard these songs in forever.

So the weekend happened. Then other stuff happened. Now the weather matches how I’m feeling.

I decided to be spontaneous and try soy milk for dinner, specifically the Vanilla Al’mondo Soymilk Shake by Odwalla. It was … definitely a new experience lol. Not bad, but not something I’d drink everyday. Then again, maybe I just have to get used to the whole soy thing. It tasted like a mix of chocolate milk and dry oatmeal. And now, after a small caesar salad and a third of the Odwalla, I’m full. Hmm. Cool?
I also “got into” iTunes today. I was sick of my Soulseek downloads failing ’cause of the stupid firewall here, so I said what the hell, updated my iTunes, and proceeded to buy about $20 worth of music
Here’s what I got:
- Alanis Morissette “Eight Easy Steps”
- Bonnie McKee “Somebody”
- Bowling For Soup “1985″
- Celine Dion “Make You Happy”
- Chevelle “Vitamin R”
- Crossfade “The Day the Music Died”
- Good Charlotte “Predictable”
- Hayley Westenra “Who Painted the Moon Black”
- HIM “Solitary Man”
- HIM “Salt In Our Wounds”
- HIM “The Heartless”
- Howie Day “Collide”
- Killers “Mr. Brightside”
- Korn “Word Up”
- Lazyboy “Underwear Goes Inside the Pants”
- My Chemical Romance “I’m Not Okay”
- Papa Roach “Getting Away With Murder”
- Pat McGee Band “Beautiful Ways”
- Savage Garden “I Want You”
- Savage Garden “Universe” (what I named this site after)
- Spymob “German Test Drive”
- Velvet Revolver “Fall to Pieces”
All in all, it’s an awesome mix, I recommend every single song (you can preview them before buying), there’s a free song download every week, and my next step will be finding out if I can play AAC files on my MP3 player.

Well, today was sorta busy. Animation sucked as usual, but at least we don’t have any homework (I think). Then I took a nap, and was planning to skip uber-boring art history until I realized that I had to hand in my one-page paper. So I caught the bus over there and was a little late, but anything to make that class shorter is alright in my book. Afterwards I went shopping for random stuff and the other half of Brian’s birthday present, which, as usual, I spent too much money on
Before getting dinner I talked to Lindsay in the hall, who said she thought she saw Jed at the library today. I was like weird, he’s not supposed to be here ’til next semester. Eh. Now I gotta decide whether to shower and read or go to UREC, read, and then shower. If only I didn’t have a headache.

I’m so confused. Brian sent me this link, yet I have no idea who the author or any of the people in the pictures are, and he didn’t feel like telling me either. Am I supposed to guess? Now it’s gonna bug me.
Animation sucks (again). I was halfway through the arms when Lightwave decided it didn’t want to smooth-shift anymore. I tried twice on two different computers, and though sometimes it would do this weird triangle thing in-between the polygons, it wasn’t close to what was supposed to happen *sigh* So after dinner I get to walk ALL the way back over there, go to the SFFG meeting (which I’m not missing again ’cause of this stupid class), and then to the tutors who will hopefully still be there.
I’m almost done with Larry’s Party … and got a C on my labyrinth paper. 11.5 out of 15. I followed the directions exactly — four paragraphs in present tense — and he takes off points ’cause my paragraphs are too long and my tense is wrong. WTF? I had this paper right before proofreading
I’m so close to taking that checklist sheet and burning it.
Back to work.

I just saw the prettiest cloud formations while walking to dinner. The mountain view across 81 showed low-lying clouds nestled around the peaks, and I felt like I was on the edge of a mystical land … crap, why don’t I have a digital camera yet? Because then, like Elaine’s sister, I would’ve been able to take a picture of the massive black tornado in Maryland (and other areas) that stemmed from Hurricane Ivan.
