Airshow, Tiesto.

Arrow Monday, June 28, 2004 @ 12:42 pm

K, really frickin’ tired, but wanted to write a little post before bed.

Brian’s birthday surprise turned out to be spending all day at an airshow — got a 15-minute aerobatic (loops, spins, rolls) ride in a biplane, then watched planes, people, and props do crazy things for an hour and a half. I just wish I’d brought my sunglasses and sun lotion … my eyes and skin hurt afterwards, but oh well, I’ll feel better in a couple days. Just put some aloe vera gel on, which helped a little … I even think my nose stopped oozing.

Didn’t do anything yesterday … slept ’til 2, did a little shopping, went to bed early. LOL.

Friday night was DJ Tiesto at Nation, which ROCKED. Got there at 9 (when the doors opened) so we could secure a parking space, and then found out Tiesto wouldn’t be playing ’til 1. Great. But somehow we managed to stay busy for 4 hours by drinking, chilling, and dancing. Plus, once the main room opened at 11 and we found a good place to stand, we basically had to stay there despite the crazy pushing, shoving, heat, and rude people … but Tiesto was worth it  By 3ish we were beyond tired, so we drove back half-asleep, stopped at Denny’s for breakfast, and then passed out.

And that’s my weekend in a nutshell. Night.

Oh yeah, and everyone check out my friend Caryn in her first big modeling job for Verlo Mattress Factory Stores (she’s in the two banner pictures). Congrats!

You can never have enough coffee.

Arrow Friday, June 25, 2004 @ 2:13 pm

I have a new favorite food: Pepperidge Farm caramel chip cookies dipped in Maxwell House’s French vanilla instant coffee (mixed with milk instead of water). Mmm, SO good. Sucks there was only one cookie left, though … must get more.

Saw “Saved” with Shaune and Willi yesterday, which turned out not to be the Dogma-ish movie I was expecting. But it was cute, a good cast, and not too sickeningly teenish. We missed the first 5 or 10 minutes due to lateness, but don’t think it made *too* big a difference … though it might have explained the sporadic pregnancy

Afterwards, even though I was pretty tired, decided to chill at Shadia’s for a couple hours. Didn’t even drink. Al was there, but he was the only other person I knew. The rest consisted of Willi’s friend Corinne (who I’d seen before), Monty, and other people whose names I can’t remember. Need to hang out over there more when my head isn’t throbbing … don’t wanna be known as “the girl who never shuts up.”

Oh, and another reason why I hate Blogger: I can only title my most recent 300 posts. Just great. What the fuck am I supposed to do about the remaining 500? They’re not gonna show up on the archives page unless they’re titled. Grr *kicks Blogger*

Stupid Blogger, cats … and girl?

Arrow Thursday, June 24, 2004 @ 1:51 pm

Well, my site almost has updated archives with each post on its own page instead of just one page for each month. I like it better … it’s more organized, findable by search engines, and will be helpful when I make Universe searchable one of these days. Too bad it took me like ALL of yesterday — literally — to figure out. And then Blogger refused to publish. But it’s back to normal now … all I gotta do is put on the finishing touches and title like 800 posts. Oh goody.

Okay, that’s the last time I EVER let the cats into my room. I just noticed that my glass dragon figurine from Natural Bridge with Brad and his family is laying on my table in a million pieces *cries* The one impulse buy I was proud of is gone. Why couldn’t they have knocked, say, a stuffed animal off my shelf? *sigh* At least the hematite ring from the same trip is fine …

I forgot how awesome “Addicted” by Faithless (from the Cruel Intentions soundtrack) is … go download it.

Another late night.

Arrow Wednesday, June 23, 2004 @ 3:17 am

I hate when you get an email about a job offer by someone who clearly didn’t read your resume. Just got one from a company called HireBug who’s looking for full-time account executives with 4-year degrees. Um, hello — NOT me in any way, shape, or form *sigh* Why does this have to be so hard?

Got a little bit of shopping done today: more gym shorts, a dust cloth for my computer stuff (I was getting tired of tissues), and a new PS2 memory card ’cause Shayne has mine and it’s supposedly MIA. Now I need to play DDR more.

There’s been a lot of downpours tonight: 3 that I’ve witnessed, and who knows how many total. Just my luck that one happened while I was driving 66 and then again on my way from the car to the house. But oh well, rain isn’t that bad … even the sky has to cry sometimes.

Too much CSS.

Arrow Tuesday, June 22, 2004 @ 2:47 pm

Haha I feel stupid. The only reason my links were screwed up was ’cause of the <style></style> and <!– –> tags in my CSS files. Wasted a lot of time figuring that out, but oh well, not like I had anything better to do. Now I just gotta fix the tagboard message box, and Universe should be pretty much Mozilla-fied. Yay.

K weird … according to Justin (the non-Nation one), only some Blogger users (myself included) got Gmail invites. Umm, what’s with the exclusiveness? Not like I need yet another email account, but still, who cares if it’s only the beta version? The invites sound stupid. They should just open the friggin’ site to everyone, and people who don’t know what they’re doing should stay the hell away.

Wait … that sounded a lot like something Brian would say … bah!

Yay and nay.

Arrow Tuesday, June 22, 2004 @ 2:14 am

Man, my site sucks in Mozilla. The links are all different colors, the tagboard message box is too big, and font sizes are weird. Grr. But maybe in my next layout (or if I’m bored) I’ll take that into consideration.

However, there are good features: I no longer have to press control for a new window, Google’s toolbar is automatically installed, the top section is smaller, and there’s supposedly a faster download manager. My only complaint is that I can’t get my bookmarks to list alphabetically, even though I have the option checked. Maybe I need to restart? And wow — Blogger publishes faster in Mozilla. Who knew? Score

On a side note … can someone save me from my hiccups?

Fuck. I only have 647 MB left on my hard drive. Must either get an iPod (or similar MP3 player), external hard drive (like 40 GB), or new laptop all together soon … if I can will myself to spend the money and not feel guilty

Okay, it’s 3 am and my dad’s still at work. WTF? Is he gonna pull an all-nighter or something? Ross said he’s working late ’cause everyone else is out of town … ? He better be on his way home.

Ice Breakers’ Liquid Ice mints are addicting — I’ve already had like 20 lol. I just hope I don’t turn into Jessica Simpson … “well is it liquid or is it ice?” *shudder*

The day of the dad.

Arrow Sunday, June 20, 2004 @ 2:10 pm

Well, happy Father’s Day. All my dad’s doing is grilling, but that’s fine with me. I haven’t eaten a real meal here in awhile, so I guess that’s good. Was also gonna to go to Sully for the car show today, but slept in instead ’cause getting up at 7:30 after going to bed at 3 isn’t my idea of fun lol.

Hmm, haven’t updated since Thursday. Highlights include dinner at Bennigan’s with Brian and his family (which didn’t go too well), a Hot Topic spree (where I decided on this), and biking 12 miles from Cameron Run to Old Towne and back, then going swimming for like 10 minutes. Hey, it was COLD. Sorta. As a result I’m buying next time, but oh well, my card is no longer empty

Anime night was last night, but no anime was watched, and I didn’t show up until like 10. I caught the last half of Master And Commander and tried to stay awake for all of The Usual Suspects ’cause I’d only seen bits and pieces … but alas. Maybe next time. Then for food, Dan made veal, buffalo, and lamb burgers with tater tots and fries, plus a chocolate torte. And he and Kelly had two of the humongous burgers (plus dessert) — is that even scientifically possible? But whatever, it was good anyway.

Ooh. Ever wondered if sex and the first letter of your name are related? Find out here … mine might be kinda right, but it’s nowhere near the money lol.
