Evil siding.

Arrow Tuesday, April 13, 2004 @ 5:57 pm

One of my two $7000 jobs just canceled to give in to siding. Need to have a “talk” with whoever invented stupid siding … I’ve lost so many leads/clients to its supposed convenience.

Beautiful Ice Princess
Love quiz
You need distance between you and your partner in your relationship. You are very difficult to get. You have big requirements and this one you love must try hard to get you. But after he melts your heart he will be the most happy person in the world. You need someone who shows you that you are special and it makes you feel good to see that you are loved. He shall know that you could easily get another boyfriend but you won’t as long as you love him. When he hurts you you will hurt him too, but in general you don’t get hurt. If your partner cheated on you, you would react cold and immediately (try to) forget him. Take the Big Love Test.

One wild night.

Arrow Sunday, April 11, 2004 @ 8:59 am

Hehe oops, fell asleep in my clothes last night … with the light on. Interesting how I keep doing that even though it’s supposedly bad for you *shrugs*

I’ve been really slacking on CWP this weekend — Jed’s gonna kill me. Instead of going marketing yesterday, I slept from 11 - 5. And then went to the Sennett’s for Easter dinner at 6, which I’d completely forgotten about. Also forgot to do my drop-in call at 8 … oh darn … and didn’t do anything today. But at least I did two estimates (one of which booked on the spot) and got a reassigned lead yesterday.

Speaking of which, I find it weird how both estimates were for the same thing (eaves, trim, fascia) on similar sized/shaped houses for a price of about $2000, and client #1 thinks the price is too high, yet client #2 thinks it’s reasonable and books on the spot. WTF? I don’t get people.

To redeem myself, hopefully, I’ll just tell Jed that this weekend was weird for me. “Unintentionally” stayed up too late Friday night, “accidentally” fell asleep for the rest of Saturday after my estimates, had Easter stuff to do, and didn’t feel too well ’cause of my allergies. Plus, I know I wouldn’t wanna be bothered by some kid painter in the middle of Easter dinner  I doubt he’ll have any sympathy, but oh well. Yeah, I may deserve it, but I definitely don’t regret it.

And now for the experience dubbed, in Shaune’s words, last night (i.e., Friday night). Was definitely the best clubbing I’d ever done — Nation is like 4869213 times better than Insomnia and Platinum combined. It has a Metro station 1 block away, plays better music, is bigger, draws cooler people (some due to the previous Slipknot show), and doesn’t have fans blowing freezing cold air at you from all directions no matter where you go.

Brad, of course, bails on me at the last minute, so I’m like okay, screw you, and go with Shaune instead. That, of course, turns out to be the better choice. Shaune and I meet up at East Falls Church at 10:30, me all decked out in black and her, creatively, in 50% of a prom dress. Once we get to Nation, which was surprisingly easy, and waiting in line for about half an hour, by midnight we’re in.

I spot Eddie on the stairs a couple minutes later with Doron and Nate behind him. Everyone’s kinda randomly walking around, and Javier, Alex, and Nick, who did this cool spikey thing with his hair and is wearing a fire shirt (yay), are in the next room. After saying hi to everyone, Shaune, Doron, and I migrate to the smaller dance floor, to “warm up” I should say. Not much happens there, and after most of the people leave, we meet back up with everyone.

We talk for a little bit, during which I notice that Alex seems to have a thing for Shaune — that’d turn out to be an understatement later lol. Anyway, next we head to the main dance floor. First it’s just Doron, Shaune, Alex, and I, but after about an hour, Nick joins in. And then the fun really begins. I get more into the music, improve my glow stick skills a bit courtesy Nick, and even dance with him, Doron, and some random guy at the same time — I was like hell yeah, this rocks. Got some solo time with Nick, too, which was fun since he actually knew what he was doing — we did these little “routines” at one point. It was great, especially since I didn’t have to feel guilty about it.

Back to the “some random guy” from earlier — he’d started dancing behind Shaune, who successfully pushed him away, but then he moved onto me. At first I didn’t notice/wasn’t interested so I just let him do his own thing, but then he starts putting his hands on me, and I’m like um no. He even started smoking in my face at one point — I’m like, geez, don’t you have any respect? But after ignoring him for a long enough period of time, he got the message and disappeared. Freak. Didn’t see much of Nate, Eddie, or Zoe the whole night either, but oh well *shrugs*

Unfortunately, 3 hours later we have to leave — some people are looking tired and Shaune and I have to catch the last Metro, which leaves at 3:17. So we round everyone up and try to get there on time, but no, the gates are closed by 3:18. It’s okay, though, ’cause Zoe drives by as we’re running back, so we catch a ride to East Falls Church with her. It was funny, 7 people in a 5-person car — Shaune in Alex’s lap and me in Nick’s. The windows got all fogged up

Once back at East Falls, we retreat to our respective cars and agree to meet up at IHOP (minus Eddie and Zoe). But, of course, the lot’s full, and Metro 29 is closed (wtf?), so we resort to Harris Teeter. They had free cookies, and Alex bought doughnuts and a 2-liter of Pepsi. Good stuff. By now it’s about 4:30, so we decide to chill at Doron’s for a bit ’cause he has food and a pool table.

After an interesting couple minutes of having to wake up his dad to let us in, we head down to the basement. Nick strips the pool table of its cover and plays a few games with Doron. Shaune’s occupied with keeping Alex off of her, and I just kinda sit there, munching doughnuts, drinking Pepsi, and trying to get as much caffeine as I can since I had to be awake for the next 6 hours. Pretty soon it’s 5:30, and Shaune and I are ready to go. I get a goodbye hug from Nick and Doron, we get Nick’s number, and are on our way. Shaune follows me to 495, and before I know it, I’m home by 6 — ready to shower, get some food, and greet the day with the minuscule amount of energy I have left. But it was all good — I made it to my estimates, booked my 2nd, and proceeded to pass out for the rest of the day. Know what else? I’d do it all again next weekend

Girls’ night out.

Arrow Friday, April 9, 2004 @ 10:00 pm

Update: still going to Nation, but with Shaune instead of Brad, who couldn’t come for some reason. Might see him tomorrow night, though, which’ll be awesome. Anyway, I’m excited, even though Alchemy sounds more my style than Cubik. But oh well, it’s still gonna rock, especially with Doron, Eddie, Nick, Nate, Zoe, Alex, AND Javier there! Plus, I have an estimate to do in ten hours — and I’m gonna be dead come Monday — but I don’t care, ’cause it’ll all be worth it  Later!

The world can bite me.

Arrow Thursday, April 8, 2004 @ 2:21 pm

Does anyone even read this? It’s like no matter what, no one cares. I don’t wanna do CWP anymore.

Doron and Eddie are going to a rave Friday night at Nation, and I so wanna go, but no, I have to frickin’ drive home and deliver the stupid pre-estimate packages and make confirmation calls and act all happy like the world’s a perfect, sunny, flowery place, when all I wanna do is dress up, stay out all night, and not worry about anything except living for the moment and making the most of my short life. And it’s not just that. I’ve missed countless concerts and parties ’cause of CWP, and I’m sick of it. I can’t do anything fun anymore, everything has to revolve around school and painting. I even have a sociology test in an hour that I haven’t studied for, and you know what? I don’t care, and Dr. Steele can go to hell. Even if I did study, it’s not gonna make any difference in my grade, so what’s the point? *sigh*

Actually, I think I will go to Nation. Screw it. Sleep can bite me, and I deserve this. Even if I end up not going, I’m giving Eddie and Doron a ride no matter what. And if I do go, I’ll drop them off at Vienna first, go do my estimate stuff, and then meet up with them later. I left Brad a message asking if he’d wanna come too, ’cause I haven’t seen him in a couple weeks … plus, he’s awesome with glow sticks  Too bad Shayne’ll be home, though … ’cause that’d be perfect.

Edit: Yay, Brad can come!

Always second-best.

Arrow Tuesday, April 6, 2004 @ 9:15 pm

Evil abfab4u outbid me in the last 10 seconds of the choker that I’ve been trying to find — forever — and was this close to winning  Now I’m bidding on another one, but it’s just not the same *sigh*

Umm wtf? Jessica got a 94 on her psych test — her highest grade yet — and said it’s ’cause she didn’t study as much. I got a 62 and studied more than I usually do. Where is the justice in that? Just goes to show how screwed up the college system is, not to mention scantron testing. Where did the creative and personal aspects of learning go? I guess that’s what art is for … too bad all the classes were full when I signed up this semester. Ya know, I don’t care anymore who I get as a professor next semester — all I want is a frickin’ outlet, where I can escape from everything and become immersed in my own little world, even if only for a little bit. I lived off that at Foxcroft. Man, I never thought I’d miss art this much.

Gonna miss JMU.

Arrow Tuesday, April 6, 2004 @ 11:23 am

My dad likes the new Hanson songs (especially “Every Word I Say” and “Hey”), and thinks I should send a copy of Underneath to Uncle Chris. Score. Will I convert yet another Hanson fan?

My items on eBay didn’t sell — again. Go figure.

In site news, I took a new cam picture.

For the first time in my life I don’t want school to end. Yeah, I have CWP to occupy myself and friends like Shaune, Erica, and Brad back home … but at JMU, I have Shayne, Jessica, Doron, Eddie, Meghan, Angelica, Courtney, Sam, John, etc. — and going the summer without them is gonna be tough. I’m getting the best of both worlds now (Fairfax and CWP on the weekends, JMU during the week), and am so not looking forward to May 5th  *counts* I have 29 days left … better use them wisely. They’re gonna fly by.

Big flavor change, big job.

Arrow Monday, April 5, 2004 @ 2:43 pm

The new citrus flavor of Crest rocks, I think I’ll be sticking with it for awhile. The generic mint flavors floating around are so overdone, and I’m tired of them. Granted, I haven’t tried the new herbal mint or cinnamon flavors of Crest, but I will soon — I picked up one of those “try all three flavors” mini-tube packs at CVS on Friday. It was exactly what I’d been looking for.

In other news, I booked a $4000 job yesterday! I could barely contain my excitement as they handed over the deposit check lol. Since Jed wasn’t there, it’s technically my first booking, and getting that much on my first “real” victory is definitely not expected. They’re really nice, too, especially Diane. I wish all my clients were like her. Now, if only MyNSG will work properly … if it’s not one thing broken (like the “Clients” tab), it’s another (like editing expense reports). Geez. CWP needs to hire new webmasters … and Jed needs to learn how to check his email/messages on a daily basis — some people do have urgent matters to talk about, i.e., accidentally screwing up an 8 am estimate by about $1000 …

So Brian is apparently into Three Days Grace now … I’m guessing the “(I Hate) Everything About You” song is his favorite. I just wonder how that came about, especially since he only listens to talk radio, eurodance, classical, and old Metallica/Guns ‘N Roses *shrugs* People change … some for better, some for worse.
