Hehe oops, fell asleep in my clothes last night … with the light on. Interesting how I keep doing that even though it’s supposedly bad for you *shrugs*
I’ve been really slacking on CWP this weekend — Jed’s gonna kill me. Instead of going marketing yesterday, I slept from 11 - 5. And then went to the Sennett’s for Easter dinner at 6, which I’d completely forgotten about. Also forgot to do my drop-in call at 8 … oh darn … and didn’t do anything today. But at least I did two estimates (one of which booked on the spot) and got a reassigned lead yesterday.
Speaking of which, I find it weird how both estimates were for the same thing (eaves, trim, fascia) on similar sized/shaped houses for a price of about $2000, and client #1 thinks the price is too high, yet client #2 thinks it’s reasonable and books on the spot. WTF? I don’t get people.
To redeem myself, hopefully, I’ll just tell Jed that this weekend was weird for me. “Unintentionally” stayed up too late Friday night, “accidentally” fell asleep for the rest of Saturday after my estimates, had Easter stuff to do, and didn’t feel too well ’cause of my allergies. Plus, I know I wouldn’t wanna be bothered by some kid painter in the middle of Easter dinner
I doubt he’ll have any sympathy, but oh well. Yeah, I may deserve it, but I definitely don’t regret it.
And now for the experience dubbed, in Shaune’s words, last night (i.e., Friday night). Was definitely the best clubbing I’d ever done — Nation is like 4869213 times better than Insomnia and Platinum combined. It has a Metro station 1 block away, plays better music, is bigger, draws cooler people (some due to the previous Slipknot show), and doesn’t have fans blowing freezing cold air at you from all directions no matter where you go.
Brad, of course, bails on me at the last minute, so I’m like okay, screw you, and go with Shaune instead. That, of course, turns out to be the better choice. Shaune and I meet up at East Falls Church at 10:30, me all decked out in black and her, creatively, in 50% of a prom dress. Once we get to Nation, which was surprisingly easy, and waiting in line for about half an hour, by midnight we’re in.
I spot Eddie on the stairs a couple minutes later with Doron and Nate behind him. Everyone’s kinda randomly walking around, and Javier, Alex, and Nick, who did this cool spikey thing with his hair and is wearing a fire shirt (yay), are in the next room. After saying hi to everyone, Shaune, Doron, and I migrate to the smaller dance floor, to “warm up” I should say. Not much happens there, and after most of the people leave, we meet back up with everyone.
We talk for a little bit, during which I notice that Alex seems to have a thing for Shaune — that’d turn out to be an understatement later lol. Anyway, next we head to the main dance floor. First it’s just Doron, Shaune, Alex, and I, but after about an hour, Nick joins in. And then the fun really begins. I get more into the music, improve my glow stick skills a bit courtesy Nick, and even dance with him, Doron, and some random guy at the same time — I was like hell yeah, this rocks. Got some solo time with Nick, too, which was fun since he actually knew what he was doing — we did these little “routines” at one point. It was great, especially since I didn’t have to feel guilty about it.
Back to the “some random guy” from earlier — he’d started dancing behind Shaune, who successfully pushed him away, but then he moved onto me. At first I didn’t notice/wasn’t interested so I just let him do his own thing, but then he starts putting his hands on me, and I’m like um no. He even started smoking in my face at one point — I’m like, geez, don’t you have any respect? But after ignoring him for a long enough period of time, he got the message and disappeared. Freak. Didn’t see much of Nate, Eddie, or Zoe the whole night either, but oh well *shrugs*
Unfortunately, 3 hours later we have to leave — some people are looking tired and Shaune and I have to catch the last Metro, which leaves at 3:17. So we round everyone up and try to get there on time, but no, the gates are closed by 3:18. It’s okay, though, ’cause Zoe drives by as we’re running back, so we catch a ride to East Falls Church with her. It was funny, 7 people in a 5-person car — Shaune in Alex’s lap and me in Nick’s. The windows got all fogged up
Once back at East Falls, we retreat to our respective cars and agree to meet up at IHOP (minus Eddie and Zoe). But, of course, the lot’s full, and Metro 29 is closed (wtf?), so we resort to Harris Teeter. They had free cookies, and Alex bought doughnuts and a 2-liter of Pepsi. Good stuff. By now it’s about 4:30, so we decide to chill at Doron’s for a bit ’cause he has food and a pool table.
After an interesting couple minutes of having to wake up his dad to let us in, we head down to the basement. Nick strips the pool table of its cover and plays a few games with Doron. Shaune’s occupied with keeping Alex off of her, and I just kinda sit there, munching doughnuts, drinking Pepsi, and trying to get as much caffeine as I can since I had to be awake for the next 6 hours. Pretty soon it’s 5:30, and Shaune and I are ready to go. I get a goodbye hug from Nick and Doron, we get Nick’s number, and are on our way. Shaune follows me to 495, and before I know it, I’m home by 6 — ready to shower, get some food, and greet the day with the minuscule amount of energy I have left. But it was all good — I made it to my estimates, booked my 2nd, and proceeded to pass out for the rest of the day. Know what else? I’d do it all again next weekend
