First listen.

Arrow Sunday, January 25, 2004 @ 4:34 pm

Ooh cool … Razoredged Rosepetals (Shayne’s band) is gonna be on 88.1 WNRN sometime between 10 and midnight tonight. He said the woman who runs the part of the station in Stauton LOVED their demo (what’ll be playing), and that’s just really awesome. I know I’ll be listening.

First time for everything.

Arrow Sunday, January 25, 2004 @ 12:01 pm

Man … crazy weekend. And Brian and his parents will be here any minute to see my room and have lunch with the Bordens. I wish I wasn’t so tired, though … that combined with being sick is not fun — I could so crawl back into bed and sleep for another 8 hours. Blah.

Friday night was awesome. Shayne held a party at his apartment to celebrate his victory at court, so at about 9 he picks up me and Sarah. At first not much happens, we just chill in the dark, listening to music with jello shooters (black cherry = my favorite), beer and incense, which I couldn’t smell ’cause of my frickin’ cold  Later on, as people get buzzed and drunk, various crazy things start occuring. Someone walks in on a threesome, Shayne chokes and then recovers on a 3-story beer bong, I have my first female “experience” (lol), and for a few seconds we “compete” with the apartment across from Shayne’s to see who has the wilder party. That didn’t last long, though, as the other people shut their door  People start going to sleep around 1, but wake up again around 3 to some guy’s soberness and a “restocking” of beer, food, EasyMac, whatever — I have a few sips of soda and a small piece of Jen’s cake. After that, everyone pretty much retires for the night. In the morning, Shayne takes me and Sarah home, and then I shower, eat, sleep, and do some reading — have a nice, laid-back, lazy day. Looking back, the party and its events were definitely fun, just not something I wanna make a habit of. But rock on!

Today is not my day.

Arrow Wednesday, January 21, 2004 @ 8:34 pm

Okay, this so isn’t fair. Besides being sick and feeling crappy ’cause it’s that time of the month, I go to Sbarro with Doron for dinner and the guy serving pasta looks exactly like Brad (except for lighter hair). And then when he couldn’t hear me (yes, it’s possible, I get quieter when I’m sick), he goes, “sorry hun?” I was like nooo — first you remind me of him, then you have to go and talk like him too. So that was a little … umm … hard to get over … or something. It also doesn’t help that I have 2 quizzes and my paper draft due tomorrow morning in back-to-back classes, meaning I have to get everything done tonight. And judging from the fact that it’s 8:30 with only 2 pages done and no reading whatsoever, it’s either gonna be a long night tonight or a shitty day tomorrow … great. And wtf, now people in the other suite are being loud — can’t I get any peace? *sigh*

Sick again.

Arrow Wednesday, January 21, 2004 @ 7:36 am

Mannn, it’s way too early to be up, especially for someone who’s sick — and I’m not getting any better (I think my cough has worsened). Guess I won’t be going to UREC today either  … but that can be a good thing — I need to start on my gwrit draft due tomorrow.

Old/new speakers.

Arrow Tuesday, January 20, 2004 @ 7:41 pm

Yay, Brian’s 11-year-old speakers still work — I had the monaural and stereo plugs mixed up before, so thought only one of them did  How come everything I buy doesn’t last that long?

Punk hair.

Arrow Tuesday, January 20, 2004 @ 5:42 pm

Happy birthday to LP drummer Rob  And this is random, but Nate and his girlfriend are really cute together. Eddie also bleached his hair and spiked it blue … Jessica’s is still mostly dark, save for a few blond and green streaks. I really need to darken mine, cut it straight across, and maybe get it straightened. Erica says she did hers at Creative Cuts (wherever that is), but apparently it costs like $100 each time. So until I really need it, I’ll be sticking to blow-drying … or nothing at all.

Best concert EVER.

Arrow Sunday, January 18, 2004 @ 9:59 pm

Well the LP (Linkin Park) concert was awesome. Awesome. I was in the 2nd or 3rd row, and though POD sucked, Story Of The Year and Hoobastank put on pretty good sets, especially with SOTY’s “dance” moves  Need to download more of their songs … or buy their CD.

But the highlight for me was during one of LP’s last songs (I forget which … stupid me). Chester came to the front row rail and leaned over (held by the security guys) and screamed out the lyrics — right above my head. It was unreal, with all the concerts I’d been to, I’d never been lucky and been in the right place at the right time. But that night I was, and loving every second of it — despite the suffocating body heat, thirst, and limited lung capacity from pushing trying to take over me. And even though he didn’t grab my hand in the sea of others around it, he caught my eye, and I could still touch him and relax in knowing that a second of my favorite bands knew of my existence … if only for a second. After that I was just in awe. “My December” was also done really well … almost no instruments were used, Brad had his eyes closed, and Chester sat sideways on one of the amps and just sang, not looking at anyone. Really emotional. He also had a 3 row pyramid belt on, which is just like Jessica’s, except mine has 2 rows, and 2 rows rock just as much as 3  I love LPU!

Oh, and on a random note, I found Ben & Jerry’s Vanilla Caramel Fudge! I’ve been looking for it for like years, and then all of a sudden, randomly, I see it sitting there on the shelf at Giant and almost have a heart attack. If you hadn’t guessed by now, it’s my favorite flavor, and VERY rare. So yay! Too bad I don’t feel well enough to eat any

Fuck, I have 102 emails in my Hostway account, and most of them are fanlisting submissions. I so don’t have time to update, and I can’t use the PHP scripts that seem to be taking over the fanlisting world — my plan doesn’t support them, and when I scroll down a page that uses them, the fields seem to move. So no.
