Spike failure.

Arrow Friday, October 24, 2003 @ 12:26 pm

Yeah I’m really supposed to be doing my GCOM paper … but hey, it’s only midnight, I still have half a bottle of Cherry Coke left and don’t have an 8 am — I’d say I’m still good! Though if Cheryl emails me back I’ll need to get up at 9 … but dunno what’s gonna happen to that since JMU mail started working again who knows how many hours ago.

But anyway, I haven’t written a *good* post in a few days, so here ya go … though I’m really just procrastinating … ooh I should go join more fanlistings! LOL j/k. Yeah.

So today: I’m gonna be boring and list what I did: got up at 7, trekked over to ISAT, sat through health and noticed that our new teacher is better, trekked back, checked mail, looked through the New Student Record … and though I saw a couple people from Arlington and Yorktown, I didn’t know anyone. Except I recognized a girl from my art class. Then I went to Taylor, got hot chocolate and a sticky bun, finished reading The Breeze, headed to GCOM, barely stayed awake through the last group presentation, went back to my dorm and did a combination of chat online, get lunch, mostly finish my Chandler drawing, and do a little web updating. Then was art, where everyone commented on how good my still-life drawing was, though I personally didn’t see what was so great … but hey, more power to me? *shrugs* Came back, saw that Eddie’d left me a message to meet him for dinner 20 minutes ago, so was late but it was okay ’cause I wasn’t really hungry and got to meet cool people (like the guy with green hair … and his roomie’s cooler than I thought). After that little meet and greet, we went to my room, got glue and freaked out Kara in the process, went to his room, tried to spike my hair — but failed. The glue wasn’t strong enough, so we said screw that and walked to CVS for hairspray with me feeling all weird with random limp spikes sticking out from my head — but it was fun! I so know people were thinking, umm wtf? We got this stuff called Rave 4X, and it worked, but only after using like half the can on one glue-soaked spike … and then figured we should just try again tomorrow when we had a comb and my hair was clean and unsticky. So yay! I’ll definitely post pictures.

After that, I just ventured back to Hillside, immediately took a shower to de-glue myself, chatted online, got dinner at the last minute, watched bits and pieces of the Yankees game, and talked to Brian … and now I’m here after writing out the questions for Cheryl and Jen once we get interview times worked out. See, I did some homework! And now … I’m off to do more GCOM after satisfying my blog craving

Up up and away!

Bad JMU mail.

Arrow Thursday, October 23, 2003 @ 9:39 am

Grr, JMU mail is down … just when I emailed people yesterday about my anthropology paper and need to check it. Blah … but oh well. I got my New Student Record, so gonna go see if I know anybody, then head to Taylor for coffee, newspaper, GCOM, and lunch … so bye bye.

But the Daily Double first:

1. What is the most used program on your computer?
Umm … probably AIM, IE, Notepad, WS_FTP, Windows Media Player, Photoshop, and Word … yeah I know that’s more than one, sue me

2. What is your favorite animal and why?
Horses … seahorses … the weird dragon leafy fish things … cows … moo! I dunno, just ’cause they’re cool and they can go moo. And snuffies!

First semester midterm grades.

Arrow Tuesday, October 21, 2003 @ 7:38 pm

Got my grades yesterday … eh:

ART 160: A
GHTH 100: C
ART 140: B
GCOM 123: C
GANTH 195: B-

Evil tests … at least we can make up half of our GCOM one next week. Health sucks, we have a new teacher, and I slept through class today. Not like I missed anything, though … well, I’m off to do a bookstore survey for a coupon. Adios.

Happy birthday to my dad too.

Missed Hanson — again.

Arrow Sunday, October 19, 2003 @ 3:09 pm

OMG, Hanson came to Hot 99.5, did an interview, and took pictures with fans! Nooo! Why wasn’t that posted anywhere, and why didn’t anyone tell me?

Concert shopping.

Arrow Sunday, October 19, 2003 @ 5:51 am

I’m going to bed in like 2 seconds … but the Hanson concert was awesome (review coming eventually), I met Taylor and Isaac and got their autographs (yay!), and got some cool stuff while shopping today  Updates later once I get school crap over with *sigh* Speaking of which, I still need to read for anthropology and write my frickin’ communications speech for Tuesday. Bah.

Ooh my visitor count is 4444. Make a wish?

Daily Double too (guess there wasn’t a Friday Five this week?):

1. How many emails do you get a day?
Like 20 or 30 spam, 10 relating to my sites, and a few personal or regarding school.

2. How many movies have you watched this month?
Umm … let’s see … there was Save the Last Dance, Finding Nemo (twice) … and maybe Van Wilder and Underworld, though I think those were in September. So yeah, 2 … man, my movie card isn’t getting much use.

Tentative slogan.

Arrow Monday, October 13, 2003 @ 7:05 pm

My slogan for art: “put away the remote and fries, open your eyes, get out alive.” And I dunno how, but I have ’til next class to do my color wheel *slight sigh of relief* Now I gotta get through my GCOM meeting, somehow explain to them that I only have an hour, then race over to Taylor to try to study for health with Sam … and eat somewhere in there. It’s also getting more and more certain that the one ride to the DC area (costing $20) for fall break is full, but Eddie said he’d figure something out … so yay I guess.
