Yayyy tour.

Arrow Thursday, July 10, 2003 @ 1:09 am

Yay, Hanson’s on tour! Even though all the dates haven’t been released yet (i.e., no Virginia dates), I figured I better go to the closest one I can ’cause of school and stuff starting soon after. And crap, the tickets go on sale tomorrow (Friday) for MOE members at Ticketmaster, and that’s all I know. Um, need more info?

Anyway, the concert’s on August 9th in Towson, MD at the Recher Theatre. Tickets are $20, doors open at 7 pm, and the show’s at 8 … I’m so there! Anyone wanna come (besides Christina, I think)?

First host, gifts, New York, anniversary.

Arrow Tuesday, July 8, 2003 @ 4:10 am

Wow, I have my first host — Veronica! Cool. Didn’t think it was that easy … and now that I think about it, I have family! LOL. Or at least the privilege to put up a “hosted” link or something *shrugs* But before anyone goes and gets ideas, keep in mind I won’t host random people. I gotta know (and trust) you in some way first.

Anyway, onto bigger and better things: my birthday, New York, anniversary, 4th of July … busy busy busy. But good good good too! Let’s see, I’ll start with my presents:

Grandma:
- money

Grandpa:
- Virgin gift certificate
- 2 framed pictures of me

Ross:
- “The Meaning of Life” book

Dad:
- Gap shopping spree

Aunt Ann:
- 2 shirts from Ann Taylor

Brian:
- cow beanie
- 2 boxes of sparklers
- Godiva chocolate/alcohol
- Hot Topic fire boots

And I think that’s it … Uncle Chris’s present was calling me lol, except I wasn’t there. Meh, I tend to subconsciously do that to him.

But man, the past month I’ve been so spoiled  I got like 1000 things for graduation, and now it’s that all over again (sorta) for turning 19 (and for 1 year with Brian). Not that I’m complaining, but other people need stuff too … or at least it seems that way? But ah well … I’m happy (except my stomach … blah) and I’m gonna enjoy it while it lasts. I have a feeling this week will be my last free one ’til GUH craziness, so I’m gonna try to squeeze in whatever I can. I know I’ll spend all of tomorrow at the mall and with Brian. And then this weekend I think we’re going clubbing (for the premiere of my fire boots lol), but not sure.

What else was I talking about? Oh yeah, New York. I walked a lot! But now I have a rekindled interest in walking … one reason I’m going to the mall tomorrow, lol. Umm, took the train up Friday afternoon, got there, had dinner, and went to see the fireworks. The show was supposed to be the best ever or something, and from what I know, it was definitely good (except for walking 20 blocks, waiting for 2 hours in the heat for it to start … and then it started late)! There were 4 barges (instead of just 1), and they did a synchronized show to music, complete with both new and improved formations and my favorites: hearts and smiley faces! They also had these funny fireworks that exploded, started to fall, but then were like oh no you don’t, and went back up again! It was cool.

Saturday … was shopping day (at Gap, Macy’s, Virgin)! Plus more walking. And then it was “De La Guarda.” OMG. That show was frickin’ insane, weird, freaky, unexpected, etc. A few days later my grandpa’s explanation of “evolution” made some sense … though anything that combines haunted house music, African vibes, cold water, stage lights, a “ceiling” of tissue paper, confetti, balloons, naked guys swinging from ropes, and all action taking place overhead with a bunch of college kids in a dark, crowded, standing-room only area for 70 minutes … is definitely my idea of wtf? However, it was strangely appealing, and if I could see it a second time, I would — just without my family heh.

Sunday was slightly mellower. Went to Virgin again, said goodbye to my grandpa, went back home, did anime night with a cookout (and watched Natalie Portman reveal her bad self lol) … and then I collapsed into bed.

And today (technically yesterday) was Brian and I’s one-year anniversary! First of all, it’s awesome that it’s here. I’ve never had such a “real-feeling” first year and I can’t believe it’s gone so well, usually there’s something that goes wrong. But no … it’s like it’s too good to be true  So thanks to everyone and everything that made that happen, especially Brian. We went to dinner in Old Town at this little restaurant called Bilbo Baggins (yes, like the LOTR Bilbo). It was good, and I still have about half my meal — beef stroganoff with veggies and fettuccine — to enjoy for lunch tomorrow. Afterwards we walked around a bit, went down by the river, peeked in some stores, I got ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s, and then, with it being around 11 on a weeknight, headed back to the car and back home.

And now here I sit, aimlessly writing a huge post, almost asleep in the process … and satisfied that I can finally wrap it up and go to bed! So adios, everyone, sleep tight, and leave me a comment if you’re so inclined (and ooh I’m a poet and didn’t know it!). Ha ha ha …

Blogger jobs, roses, New York soon.

Arrow Friday, July 4, 2003 @ 1:09 am

Ooh Blogger’s offering jobs … I just can’t apply for any of them. They need to have a frickin’ office here.

My roses (courtesy Brian) have bloomed really big, more than that of previous flowers. So yay, ’cause they’re pretty. Speaking of Brian, I got a birthday card from his parents today, which was sweet. And also one from my grandma (yesterday) with a check — score

Well, tomorrow’s New York (for the 4th, my birthday, and seeing my grandpa). Gotta get up in … *counts* … about 7 hours, so I should be going to bed soon. But before that, here are the past days’ highlights: got a lot of stuff straightened out at G-town (so I better be starting in ~2 weeks), am in the process of learning racquetball, Brian got a new car (it’s coool), my birthday’s technically tomorrow (happy 19th to me), and me and Brian’s one-year anniversary is on Monday. Aww, estoy happy. Gonna be a nice next few days (though it sucks Brian can’t come to New York).

Anyway, guess it’s bedtime, so talk to everyone later. Happy 4th!

Semi-fight, too quiet, Safeway.

Arrow Tuesday, July 1, 2003 @ 1:27 am

Blah the internet’s slow *waits for my quiz results to load* Or not. Stupid Quizilla.

Well, Shaune got pissed at me today … our 2nd fight ever I think. Though she had good reason to, it still hurt to go to her journal and see a whole rant about me (regarding a rant of mine about her) and how I was a horrible friend. I was just like great *sigh* But we talked, and things are better now. We’re probably going biking tomorrow if everything works out …

And everyone’s bugging me about being too quiet and passive or whatever, and they’re like you need to change now. WTF? Yeah that’s really a help to my self-esteem. I mean, that’s who I am, I’m not gonna just flip my personality at every beck and call. Of course if there’s something important to say, I say it (which is an improvement, believe me), and I’m not as quiet as I used to be. But I don’t believe that always getting what I want is right. Life includes disappointment, it’s not gonna stop, so why go out of my way to try and escape it, and probably make it worse? I just wish people wouldn’t bug me about having to act a certain way in order for a certain thing to happen. I’m gonna be myself, and if someone doesn’t like it, tough. But if they do like it, all the better — I got what I wanted without someone pushing me down a “right,” biased path.

And fuck, the lights just went off. I guess the cloud lightning earlier was a precursor. And now they’re back on.

I also went to Safeway (I finally caught it while it was open) on the way home from Brian’s … and unknowingly went to the check-out guy Brandon. I almost forgot that I talked to him a long time ago about concerts, ’cause he just started talking to me while he rang me up, and I was like ohh it’s you. Hi. He was like yeah my weekend starts in 3 minutes, but it’s only a day. Oh okay, well have fun. We talked for about a minute more about jobs and stuff, and then I left. It was interesting, but a nice change from all the other strictly-business employees.

And ow, shaving irritation is evil … especially there

Anyway, gonna attempt to get a good night’s sleep, so adios. Don’t let me forget to fill out a clean volunteer form for GUH, call GUH about parking, fold laundry, and do my CD-insert thing tomorrow.
