Crappy TRL.

Arrow Thursday, July 17, 2003 @ 4:05 pm

Ew, Dream got a new member (I guess one dropped out), and their new single and video suck. Man, what’s on TRL is so different now. I actually liked it in the old days, but now it’s full of crap. Oh well, at least Hanson’s “Weird” was number 1 on its premiere

New swimsuit, PPD reading.

Arrow Thursday, July 17, 2003 @ 2:14 pm

I couldn’t help it, I just ordered the AE swimsuit I’ve been eyeing. Hope my dad isn’t too mad with all the stuff I’ve been getting. This will be the last for awhile … maybe

My Hanson tickets came today! Yay! And Summer Sanitarium is tomorrow — can’t wait to see Linkin Park!

Went to GUH this morning … and though the lot wasn’t full when I got there, it was when I left. The guy at the ticket booth liked my car for some reason … he was like, how do you keep it so clean? Um dude, it’s called a car wash lol. Anyway, the PPD reading went fine (of course I don’t have frickin’ TB … what’s with needing 2 tests?) … and the drug test/background check would’ve been fine if I’d known it constituted a urine test (I’d gone right before the PPD reading). So I chugged a bottle of water and sat there for ~40 minutes until I could go. But the lady there said it happens a lot, so no big deal.

Side note: Scratch Brian going to France. And cool, my site just went from ~177 MB to ~31 MB. Score! Good riddance to all those hundreds of pictures. Now I’m gonna go update WNC, so adios.

Dead car again.

Arrow Thursday, July 17, 2003 @ 12:14 pm

My car wouldn’t start again today. But that’s ’cause I was stupid and accidentally left the lights on after GUH … in the daytime. At first I didn’t get it, but then I figured I must’ve turned them on in the parking garage and forgot about them … grr. My next car is definitely having something to warn me about that, since this isn’t the first time. But it wasn’t too bad, except for making Brian ~15 minutes late to racquetball … I took a cab to dinner instead and my dad jumped the car when he came home from work. So all is well. And random question: why do I always lock my keys inside the car when I’m at home, and not somewhere far away? Interesting … but it better stay that way

Tomorrow I have my last (hopefully) health appt. at Georgetown. I hope they got the FFP fax no problem … and that I get a frickin’ estimate, at least, of when I can start. ‘Cause I’ve been working on this thing since spring break in March, so yeah. Up and at ‘em. But anyway, gotta get up at 8:30, so it’s bedtime for me. Bye!

Shopping, The Things They Carried.

Arrow Wednesday, July 16, 2003 @ 5:50 pm

Grr, Brian has to go to France on Sunday. Yeah I was like wtf too. But ah well … even though I’ll miss him, he’ll be back in a week (sorta like school), and I could use the extra time to pack since we’re most likely moving that weekend. Maybe finish my book if I’m lucky, see Erica (she comes back on Saturday), get my annoying Express card canceled, and do some shopping. Still have that $50 of birthday money waiting to be spent … probably at Tysons since I’ve had my fill of Fair Oaks. Tysons is bigger anyway. Oh well, gotta go meet Brian for dinner soon, so see ya!

By the way, I started The Things They Carried this morning, and so far it’s not too bad. Todd thinks I’ll like it, which is probably true since I’m only at the beginning, I don’t hate it, and according to him it gets better. Yay.

Leno, Georgetown, JMU.

Arrow Wednesday, July 16, 2003 @ 1:29 am

Just saw Hanson on Leno, it was pretty good. Hard to tell what they were saying, but still good lol. And it was nice to see them again after such a long hiatus. I heard a snippet of the “Penny & Me” album recording on the Leno site, and it was awesome … I so can’t wait for the album! Frickin’ February. And watch them push it back even more — it wouldn’t be the first time  But oh well, at least they’re doing stuff, at least they’re doing a tour, and *I* have tickets. Yay!

Georgetown was interesting. The parking garage was full so I had to leave my keys in the car with the window rolled down. Was kinda skeptical at first, but there was a guy controlling the whole excess car issue, and everything was the way I’d left it when I came back, so no big deal. And FFP was surprisingly easy to deal with for faxing my first TB results to GUH — that made my day a little easier. I just hope that Sara Marion is there on Thursday when I come back for my results so I don’t have to drive out a third time. She said she wasn’t sure if she’d be in … I also hope I can find the frickin’ place … sounds confusing from her directions. But it’s okay, if I get lost, I’ll just ask some random person who looks like they know what they’re doing.

Oh yeah, JMU. It was pretty cool! My ID picture sucks, but I guess that’s a given. And I have summer reading! A total surprise, too. Apparently the book, The Things They Carried, sucks … someone get me motivated? My advisor, Mr. Wightman, is really nice. He has a dog named Nigel and is getting married in 3 weeks, so congrats to him. Met this girl Carolyn (not him, me) from McLean, an art history major. We have a few of the same classes. And my OPA was Kristin, an art major with an industrial design focus. She sent out a group email last night I think, which was nice, just saying hi and thanking us for making the day go smoothly. Or something, but I’m sure she says that to all her orientation groups lol. And I know my schedule! I’m taking Art 140 and 160, Personal Wellness, Anthropology, and Communications with group presentations (I’ll post overviews later). Unfortunately, Personal Wellness is at 8 am, but I didn’t have many other choices. Everyone was scrambling to get the classes they wanted, so if there was space, you’d better sign up. So registering was rushed, and I wish they’d given us time to read over the class descriptions, but oh well. Now I know, and I’ll definitely do that before choosing next semester’s. And it sucks, e-campus is only online from 7 am - midnight … I wonder what “maintenence” they’re doing. I also ordered my first book today! My OPA said it’s better to do it online, so I did. It’s required for Anthropology, I forget the title, but I got it used and saved $15. Gonna pick it up at the store when I move in. The info for the rest of my classes wasn’t available yet, but I figured I better order whatever I can ASAP. Speaking of which, the store is cool! I’m so gonna have as many JMU clothes as I do Foxcroft when I’m done  Yesterday I got a shirt, pin, bear for Brian, and pig magnet for Brian’s mom

Anyway, I’m gonna be good tonight and go to bed before 2, so talk to everyone later!
