Insane rain, moving sucks, sick?

Arrow Wednesday, July 23, 2003 @ 12:43 pm

I really don’t get Shaune. She and Will had a physical fight in NYC … and she’s still with him. I know if I were her, I wouldn’t tolerate it … that’s just crossing the line. You don’t do that. But oh well, not like I can do anything about it. I’m just surprised, and not understanding why she puts up with it.

The rain tonight was insane, the worst I’ve ever driven in with my car, and of course it had to start right as our movie (Legally Blonde 2 = kinda funny) let out. I mean, visibility was basically 0% (even with my wipers on high), I was going like 30 mph on 66 … and I’d look out my side window and see water spray up from the road. The places where crosswalks were had standing water … the road just looked flooded from the sudden excess and force of the rain. It was actually kinda scary, I made it home more from memory and following tail lights than from driving. I considered pulling over, but was almost home, and figured I’d be okay. Never again, though … I know it could’ve been worse. And the moment I opened the screen door, my dad opened the other door and said he’d been hoping I hadn’t been driving in the storm. Poor Erica had to get gas as well.

And wtf is up with my throat? I don’t need a cold (or whatever) now, especially with the internship so close. Blah. I wonder if eating an entire pack of Luden’s Cherry Throat Drops is bad for you?

And I really need to pack — we start moving this Thursday … technically tomorrow. Crap. Haven’t even started. Well, my schedule for tomorrow is set … *cries* I really don’t wanna have to pack up and unpack allll my stuff again, both for the new house and JMU. It gets so repetitive and tedious *sigh* Moving sucks after the first time.

In good news, I’m almost done updating WNC! I’ve gone over every page and made sure it’s how I like it, and have made myself do the time-consuming things that I’ve been putting off. All I have left to do is add tables and resize/border images to the last 3 art pages … and then I think I’m done. Yay!

And it’s pouring again … great. I’m gonna need a boat to go anywhere tomorrow.

Ross’s ankle, another busy day.

Arrow Tuesday, July 22, 2003 @ 2:05 am

I’m going to bed, but figured I should write something first. Ross says there’s a 0.02% chance that we won’t go to Palm Beach ’cause of his ankle. Yeah, right. He can frickin’ stay home, but I’m still going. Not like I made him get hurt, but don’t think my dad’s gonna do that, so yay. Tomorrow’s gonna be frustrating, I think. Gotta bug FFP about the fax, work out orientation info with Sara (hope she wasn’t pissed about tonight), work on WNC, and … go to CVS. And pack! I have … *counts* … 10 days ’til we move, and if Georgetown stuff keeps up its new pace, time is gonna be precious.

Oh well, it’s bedtime, and I’m hoping my throat feels better in the morning. Adios.

Summer Sanitarium, DVN concerts.

Arrow Sunday, July 20, 2003 @ 1:37 pm

Wow, the last two days have been busy, but a good busy

Friday was the Summer Sanitarium concert, and it was awesome! We missed Mudvayne and The Deftones ’cause of traffic, but I was so glad we made it for Linkin Park since I was mostly there to see them. I thought they’d be on after Limp Bizkit so I wasn’t able to get to the pit ’til 2 or 3 songs into the set, but once there, I was just rockin’ out (in the drizzling rain too!). I wanted to crowd-surf but had forgotten to give Brian my purse … but then again, he was already carrying stuff, so it was okay. But it was still fun, I got within about 20 feet of the stage, and I’m happy that I finally got to see them! I got their tour shirt, too. Limp Bizkit was cool ’cause Fred Durst (and security) walked around the perimeter of the pit (where we were standing ’cause Brian had been chatting with a security guy), so I was like 3 feet from him for a second. Too bad he didn’t stop by us. And he’s short, lol. They did an awesome version of “Faith,” complete with snippets from George Michael’s video. One (or two) of their songs also included pyrotechnics  Metallica was okay, but that’s ’cause I only knew like 3 of the songs. But the songs I did know (”Nothing Else Matters,” “Enter Sandman,” “St. Anger,” and a little of “Sanitarium”) were awesome — they had fireworks, columns of fire everywhere, cool graphics … so I was definitely liking it. They did like 2 encores too. But all in all, it was a good night, and I’m glad I decided to go despite the high ticket price. Next time I’m getting in the front row and crowd-surfing!

And last night was repping at the DVN (Da Vinci’s Notebook) concert. I gotta go soon so I’ll just summarize: the other rep, Sam, was nice and will be a senior at JMU, ran into another Sam that I haven’t seen in forever and went to elementary and middle school with (and will be a sophomore at JMU), sold CDs and t-shirts and stickers and answered questions, helped set up and close down, got a free cup from Cartoon Johnny as thanks for helping, and talked a bit with all the bands. It was fun (and was DVN’s last time doing the show *sniff*), and my legs are now sore from standing the whole time

Anyway, I’m off to shower, so bye ’til later!

Waiting for the eye of the storm.

Arrow Friday, July 18, 2003 @ 1:20 am

Fuck, Ross and my dad are yelling at each other … and I’m hearing things being hit. Great. Ross sprained his ankle playing basketball earlier … hope I don’t have to deal with the above in the morning (i.e., yay for the concert). Well, I’m going to bed.
