Online woes, evil ants.

Arrow Monday, June 30, 2003 @ 3:09 am

I’m so tempted to shut down WNC and make a collective instead. No one goes there anymore, I get like 1 submission a week, instead of the 20-a-day that I used to in past years. I also have like no motivation to update … I dunno, it seems like no one cares anymore. Of course I still like Hanson, just not in the obsessive way that I did when I started the site. Blah …

And wtf is wrong with the Franchises category at TFL? I want my frickin’ fanlisting added. It’s been more than two weeks since the last update, and Hanna’s nowhere to be seen. I just sent her an email, so hopefully I’ll get a reply soon. But not likely.

Umm, what else. Went on an ant killing spree tonight. After watching the late-night edition of ET and having dessert, I go to clean up the kitchen, pick up the cats’ food bowl, and freak out. 500 ants (literally) are crawling in it — it was so gross. I throw it in the sink, turn on the hot water (scorching them all) and spray Raid on the ones still alive. I continue to spray it on about 1/4 of the kitchen floor, officially declaring war against house-bound ants. Ew. Ants are evil.

Got to work with my dad today … but wasn’t particularly exciting. All I did was enter work permit data with PeopleSoft for 4 hours. But it’s with a flat-screen monitor and money (for once), so I’m happy. I seem to have difficulty finding paid jobs (or jobs at all). Sounds strange, but yes … I guess that goes in the “what I’m not good at” category. Alas.

Saw Brian tonight, which went fine. We had dinner at Bertucci’s in Clarendon, then drove back to Centreville to watch G.I. Jane. Wasn’t really anything special, but stressed the whole girl-power Spice-Girls thing. Which is motivating for like a minute, but then wears off, and you’re no different from before. Yeah. And I got 3 “new” (technically old) shirts courtesy of Brian’s cleaning! The first is dark green with Scotland written on the front, the second is black with a picture of the Black Riders, and the third is white with “I will never again schedule an 8 am class” written over and over on the back. Funny stuff.

Hmm, what to do tomorrow. Gotta go to the gym and Safeway … and maybe work on G-town stuff, site stuff, CDs, and killing more ants. And trying to figure out what I want for my birthday.

Anyway, it’s bedtime soon, so talk to you people later. Bye.

Fine print, anime night.

Arrow Sunday, June 29, 2003 @ 3:47 am

Okay, someone tell me how Safeway can be open 24 hours if their small print says 6 am - midnight. WTF. Whoever thought that made sense needs to go back to first grade. I tried to go there tonight at like 2 am, but no. Well, no cereal for me tomorrow … stupid Safeway. All the stores around here (i.e., CVS) have weird hours. Moral of story: always read the fine print.

I should probably go to bed since it’s gonna be 4 before I know it, but oh well. Not like tomorrow’s anything important. What did I do yesterday? *thinks* Friday … did stuff online … went to the gym … had dinner with Brian, his dad, and Megan at Friday’s … watched the 2 Daria movies and Monk … then went back home. Yeah. And today was more interesting. Also did stuff online, went to the gym, Brian’s, anime night at Greg’s with Moulin Rouge, South Park, and good farm food. Brian was drunk so I got to drive him home. And then he wouldn’t let me help him anymore, so I was like umm okay whatever. I think I’m slightly more comfortable with his car (it’s too frickin’ big) … but of course that doesn’t matter, I gotta get used to a whole new car, the Mustang, if he ever lets me drive it.

And that party at Eric’s or whoever Shaune was talking about? Hell if I know. She didn’t call me back (surprise surprise), and when I got home her away message said a bunch of people were spending the night at her place. Dunno how that got started … wonder if I should take it personally that she didn’t invite me. Not like she does to anything else except her escapades with Willi to sex shops and Soho (which isn’t even all that fun), I guess, so her loss. Blah.

Well I’m going to bed … and my mouse scroller touchpad thing is annoying me. Are they replaceable? And anyone know how to get rid of the stupid virus-like “Links” folder that keeps appearing in my Favorites? ‘Cause I don’t … and night.

Wow there’s a title thing now?

Arrow Thursday, June 26, 2003 @ 11:27 am

Ooh, first post with the new and improved Blogger. Looking good. I definitely like the colors, though a few parts were better the way before (like after saving template changes it took you back to the main posting page, and wtf is up with the “save post” option when you click on “edit”?) … but other than that, yay

Let’s see … haven’t updated in a couple days, sorry about that. Would have last night, but I felt sick and my blog was being “changed over,” so didn’t *tries to remember the past few days*

Monday: Went to the gym, the doctor for my TB test, and saw Brian that night around 9. We were bored and didn’t want to just sit there, so we went on a drive! I drove for once, tried to get Brian lost — and almost succeeded, lol. Eventually though, after a few dead ends and random turns, we ended up by Foxcroft (where I didn’t think I’d be for a long time). Saw some cool things, like deer, nice houses and scenery, etc. And we went stargazing! It was so nice, like something cool you see in the movies but never think you’ll actually experience. So yay! We pulled over on Foxcroft Rd. for lack of me stopping elsewhere (oops?), and looked at the stars and stuff … except we were joined by some cows, which was interesting. Two were so close that I could hear them grunting and tearing the grass … but the fence was my friend  LOL. And then some Foxcroft car drove by twice in a period of about 30 seconds, which was unusual. Wonder why they didn’t stop. But oh well. After we were done doing that, we headed back, I got gas at Sheetz, and then went to bed (I think … might’ve been another of my 5 am nights  ).

Tuesday: Umm … went to the dentist (all was well) and saw Brian. Had dinner at Outback, I took the 500-question Purity test (73% pure), and then just watched TV (Whose Line, Daria, MacGyver). So it was a pretty good day. The Purity test was interesting, and learned some new things about Brian (who scored ~50%) — he’s been around lol.

Yesterday: Went back to the doctor to get my TB test results (of course I was negative), except they decided to be annoying. They made me wait like 40 minutes before calling me in, and temporarily lost my file. Once they found that, they didn’t know who should sign my GUH form since I don’t have a regular doctor yet, so just got the last one I’d seen. She was nice, though, I hope I see her again. After that drama, I went to the gym and CVS, did stuff online, and then to Artie’s with my dad and Ross for dinner. I got pork tenderloin and strawberry shortcake for dessert, which was good, except I felt nauseous a few hours later … so probably won’t be getting that again  Oh oh, and I got Summer Sanitarium tickets! Yay! I can’t believe my dad let me get them after initially saying no … so mucho brownie points to him

And that’s the last few days — I’ll update again tonight if I feel like it  Bye!

Little update.

Tickets, white screen.

Arrow Monday, June 23, 2003 @ 8:34 pm

Stupid fucking screen went white right before I could press the “Post” button, therefore losing yet another good entry *sigh* I hate my computer. I basically said how my day went (highlight = not being pregnant) and that I was bored (reason for the quizzes below), couldn’t do anything with anybody (they’re either away, tired, or not on), and was gonna go watch TV and make dinner soon for lack of other options. And great, the internet’s being sketchy again. Just what I need on a wasted night … I wish I could do something besides sit here. And I want Sanitarium tickets! Trying to win them from DC101 is impossible. Oh well, I’m out, and waiting for Brian to call … bye.

Smile, goth quizzes.

Arrow Monday, June 23, 2003 @ 6:16 pm

Smile Quiz
You’re the smirk, a frown-smile hybrid that’s a little bit cocky and usually associated with evil or arrogant, but attractive people. You probably just don’t give a damn, but it’s everyone else’s fault if you don’t because you’re too awesome to have any real faults. What kind of smile are you?

I am 30% Goth
Goth Test
Goth by night, normal by day. Deep in my heart I know I am evil, but not on the company’s time. I do need to eat. Take the Goth Test at fuali.com
