Dead battery, Matrix Reloaded, OneBook.
Saturday, May 17, 2003 @ 3:43 am Wow today’s been long, lol. Let’s see if I can even remember it all.
First I had school, which started at 8:30 instead of 8 (yay) ’cause of the astronomy sleepover. It was pretty normal — got my test back in anatomy, received a 78, but according to Meg it was one of the highest, so I guess that’s good. Didn’t have to go to English, and then in philosophy I was supposed to present my paper, but time ran out, so now I’m going on Wednesday.
After class I went online, showered, packed, did laundry, and got ready to leave after the stupid leadership thing. I think it went okay, though I had no idea what to say to the underclassmen about what I’d learned from being a leader — everyone said the same thing, so I talked for like 2 seconds and made up some crap about taking advantage of opportunities and including everyone. But oh well, no one really cared, so it’s all good.
Then, after that finally ended, I go and get my stuff, sign out, walk to my car, and find out that it won’t start. Great. Just my luck. It’s raining and cold and I’m stuck. Not fun. So after spazzing for a couple seconds and cursing my car, I call Brian and my dad to tell them my dilemma, then find Ms. McKibben and Ms. Marsh, and they call maintenance for me. So after waiting about 15 minutes for maintenance to finish fixing lights or something, Mr. Crowley comes and jump-starts my car. It works after a few tries, and I’m so relieved lol. At first I thought I’d have to stay the night at school, or go through the annoying permission thing for Brian to pick me up, etc. But yay, my car didn’t completely fail on me, and it got me where I needed to go. I don’t know what was wrong with it, though … according to Dad the battery was new, but Mr. Crowley said it was 4 years old and should be replaced. But I know nothing about cars, so I’m just gonna see what they say at the next inspection.
Then, after that drama ends, I somehow make it to Brian’s while being paranoid about the car stalling or dying. Luckily it doesn’t, and I get to his house fashionably early. We go and see Matrix Reloaded, which was good, though I was tired and had a headache for most the time (after Red Bull and a Sheetz run, however, I felt better
). It was also really nice to see Brian, and he got me flowers just because
I was like aww … he’s so awesome. Then I unfortunately had to leave, so I retrieved my flowers, thanked my car for starting on its own, said bye to Brian, got home, put my flowers in a vase, told my dad I’m fine, unpacked, got ready for bed, and now I’m here. Crazy day, huh?
Oh yeah, and I also got my JMU OneBook, which has 50 billion deadlines to meet and all the information a first-year student (me) could need. So I’m gonna be religiously soaking up everything I can from it, ’cause I hate missing due dates and all that stuff. Anyway, I’m tired, and it’s definitely bedtime, so talk to everyone later. I’ll share my thoughts on Matrix Reloaded in a future post.
