Spirit, Christmas stuff, homework.

Arrow Sunday, December 8, 2002 @ 2:30 am

Aw Brian rocks  I just hope his “strange dreams” don’t get to him too much … lol.

And I wanna see the movie “Spirit” … ’cause it’s playing in the lounge right now with happy music, hehe. And a whinny every couple seconds — it’s a pretty new Disney movie about horses. And now some guy just shouted in triumph. LOL okay, enough of the play-by-play narration.

Umm, the Christmas thing tonight was okay. Trimming the tree in the gym took like 15 minutes, so afterwards I went with Natalie, Sookie, and Veronica to Natalie’s room and had Asian noodles, and then Sookie and I tried to go online, but the underclassmen trimming the tree in the library wouldn’t let us ’cause supposedly there’s some surprise for the seniors in there. And even though it said “posted,” I went in anyway ’cause I had to get my computer, and didn’t see much except the tree with weird stuff on it *shrugs* Then dinner was okay … and there was actually enough food for everyone this time. We had chicken salad sandwiches, cucumber sandwiches, chips and salsa, carrots, celery, and broccoli with ranch dip, rice krispie treats, sugar cookies, gingerbread men, and Coke. Except I had too many cookies and not enough veggies … but that’s okay, lol. Then people from different countries sang Christmas songs, and the Soggies “sang” this hilarious song targeting the faculty — Mr. Coven was described as hot and Ms. Shotwell’s pointless project craze was shot down (no pun intended). Hehe, it was great.

Aw, and “Here I Am” by Bryan Adams is playing in the movie … I love his songs. Did you know that he did the original version of “Heaven” (not DJ Sammy like I thought)? I was like cool, and I like his rendition as well.

And I dunno how I did this, but I’m almost done with my architecture project. I worked on it today for like 5 hours, and all I have to do is finish my asonometric. Yay! I figure I’ll get up around 10 or 11, take a shower, eat lunch, finish architecture, and then go online before going to Fair Oaks. I also wrote a page of my paper tonight ’cause there was nothing else to do … so go me. But there’s no way I can BS it for 4 pages … I can’t write 4 paragraphs about marriage in The Canterbury Tales without sounding redundant lol. But oh well … Mr. Matthews will just have to deal. It’s the rough draft anyway

Well, it’s bedtime now, but I’ll probably post tomorrow night after study hall. And guess what? I have a quadruple free on Monday! Yay! Hehe … though I’ll probably spend most of it working on my discrete project, which I really need to start.

Architecture, melting snow.

Arrow Saturday, December 7, 2002 @ 4:23 pm

Well, the net’s finally back up, though with my luck it’s gonna go down again any minute *kicks Verizon* Anyway, all I did today and last night was work on architecture. I got woken up this morning at 8:30 ’cause they thought I was taking the SATs, which I wasn’t. I had told them awhile ago that I wouldn’t be there, but I guess they forgot. It’s stupid how they made everyone register, even those who knew they weren’t gonna apply to any more schools that might require the SAT II (like me). I mean come on, it costs money. Oh well … the college stuff is finally over, now I just gotta wait ’til January to hear if I got in *crosses fingers*

Anyway, then I went back to sleep for like an hour, woke up again, decided I was hungry and ate some Torengos with salsa (lol), then still felt tired, so I went back to sleep ’til about 12:30. I got up, took a shower, and went to schoolhouse to do architecture. Leslie and Veronica were already there, and Erica came soon afterwards (so far I’ve finished my pencil drawings and have done 3 in ink). I kept leaving about every hour to get stuff from my room and check the internet, and this time it was finally working. So yeah … here I am. Exciting, huh?

Oh, and know what’s sad? The snow’s starting to melt! It also sucks ’cause I have these huge icicle sheets around my window in my room, and when they fall down onto my air conditioner it makes this really loud noise and I’m like wtf? LOL. Oh well … maybe it’ll snow again soon, preferably after I’m home

What else … there’s required Christmas stuff tonight at 6. If I remember correctly, we don’t eat dinner, but instead use the money to make toys and wrap presents for needy kids and families in Middleburg, Leesburg, Loudon County, etc. About half of the people go do that, and the rest go to faculty houses and make food to eat afterwards. Like gingerbread men, cookies, cucumber sandwiches, brownies, chicken salad, rice krispie treats, etc. I think all the seniors get to decorate trees — one in the library, gym, and dining room. I’m in the gym with Sookie and Meg and some other people, so that’ll be cool. Also, in the freshman English classes, there’s always a contest to write a Christmas story to be read tonight … so that’ll happen too.

Haha, and last night for dinner, Ellie and the punk girl went to Purcellville to get Penn’s — 14 orders! They said it was really funny trying to get them all right  I got beef lo mein (which was good), though next time I’m getting orange chicken ’cause it’s good too. LOL, and here’s what my fortune cookie said: “focus on your long time goal in bed.” Hehe, well delete the “in bed” part, but Becca started adding that to everyone’s fortunes — it was crazy. Erica’s was like, “you will make a name for yourself in bed.” Haha.

Umm … well not much else is going on … I just gotta finish architecture (hopefully today) and write a 4-page paper for English for Monday. Fun fun. But the net’s back up and I can talk to Brian again, so I’m happy hehe.

Crappy internet, closed weekend.

Arrow Friday, December 6, 2002 @ 4:36 pm

OMG the internet here sucks. Can it not stay on for more than an hour? Geez. Good thing it went off right after I finished my microbiology project last night … if not, I’d be screwed (like Natalie … poor her … ’cause it wasn’t back up ’til like 9 am). I’m so glad I’m done with it, though … it was really annoying. Anyway … it’s Friday. Which kinda sucks ’cause I can’t go home, and can look forward to working on homework the whole weekend. Fun fun. But break will be here eventually … I just don’t wanna go through exams and crap. Blah. Oh well … I’m probably gonna go soon and take a shower … and maybe do architecture or my paper later. So bye bye.

Sledding, double sleep-in.

Arrow Thursday, December 5, 2002 @ 5:34 pm

Sledding rocks! I just went for like an hour, and discovered that the trays from the dining hall work really well as sleds, haha. But I didn’t stay out too long ’cause I was getting numb … so I went back to the dorm, then to the library and signed online, back to the dorm and took a nice hot shower to unfreeze myself, started laundry, and now I’m here. So today was pretty cool … I just gotta lot of homework tonight … gotta finish microbiology (if the fuckin’ internet will stay on) and write a response thing for English. And I have a double sleep-in tomorrow (’cause of no more discrete)! Yay! I’ve only had a double sleep-in like once my entire time here. So that’s good. Umm … anyway, it’s dinner time, but I’ll post more later if I can. Adios!

Snowball stealth.

Arrow Thursday, December 5, 2002 @ 12:09 pm

Aw the snow’s so pretty. It’s like everywhere, and it hasn’t stopped since 1 am. Yay! Now it just needs to stick for like 2 weeks … hehe. I threw a snowball at Erica during English break and it was funny ’cause she thought it was someone else, so she threw snow at them  And then Sookie was taking pictures of everyone — it was good. Maybe I should make a snowball and store it in my fridge … and surprise some unexpecting people later  LOL. Anyway, g2g to served lunch now … so adios!

Happy dance.

Arrow Thursday, December 5, 2002 @ 12:08 pm

The snow’s sticking! Yay! This puts me in such a good mood. Now I just gotta get out of here … I wanna build a snowman with Brian

Too much microbiology, projects.

Arrow Wednesday, December 4, 2002 @ 9:50 pm

OMG I’m so sick of microbiology (due Friday), I’ve been working on it for like 5 hours. I want break! And the underclassmen are being annoying. Did I mention I want break? Grr. And my neck still hurts *sigh* At least it’ll be snowing in 3 hours … maybe they’ll cancel my riding lesson … that’d be nice. I found out I have yoga twice a week starting next week. Monday and Thursday after school. It should be cool if the people in it (aside from Erica and Meg) aren’t annoying. Yeah

Anyway, gotta go work more … happy happy joy joy. Microbiology sucks! I hate how she told us just today that we’re encouraged to type it in a different format. Yeah right, hell if I’m changing mine. Don’t have time, and it’s pissing me off as it is. And Brian needs to get on … what’s he doing downstairs? LOL.

Oh yeah, and I get to start on my fractal tomorrow. Now I have 3 free periods — no more official discrete class — we’re supposed to use that time to work on our paintings. We’re expected to spend 20 - 30 hours on our fractal … um, help. Sarah’s my partner, and of course she’s not gonna do anything … so I’m gonna be so freakin’ busy this next week or so. Fuck. I get my supplies (canvas and 3 paints) tomorrow … so in addition to my architecture project and English paper this weekend, I have the fractal to do, which is due Monday the 16th. Great *sigh again* Oh well … I’ll survive somehow if I plan my time right.

By the way, I have one piece of good news: I got A-s on all my labs! Score … hopefully that’ll make a difference. Haha, and Erica’s got a new nerd camp guy — she’s starting to be like me! J/K
