Discrete, firewall.

Arrow Thursday, November 7, 2002 @ 11:25 am

Okay, I’m bored. Lunch isn’t for another hour or so, Brian’s asleep (get better!), and I don’t have any homework to do except discrete, which I don’t get anyway. So no point in trying, right? LOL. I did that a couple nights ago, and it didn’t work. Hmm … maybe I’ll go to sleep. And what’s with the PX never being open anymore for double periods? It sucks. But oh well, hopefully it’ll get back to normal when Ms. Dean returns.

Umm … what else. My sound isn’t working again. Ooh, and I tried getting into MatchMaker today, and it actually worked (after which I downloaded all the songs I had waiting  ), which means something changed on the supposed firewall Ms. Gamboa told me about. Yay. So now Jai doesn’t have to do that proxy thing Brad was telling me about. And the freakin’ Blogger entry form still isn’t up. Grr.

Oh yeah, and happy 4 months to me

Blogger contest, daily plans.

Arrow Tuesday, November 5, 2002 @ 7:04 pm

Ooh, Blogger’s having a contest to create a new design for their site, and I’m definitely gonna enter — hopefully they’ll approve me. Even that would be cool, ’cause it means they looked at my work and liked it. I know I won’t win, haha, but just doing it will be good experience. Hopefully my computer won’t turn screwy or anything.

But other than that, didn’t really do anything today. Got my paper (A) and midterm (B) back in English. Had a prefect/whip dinner — Natalie was obsessed with the cinnamon sticks lol. Pretty funny. Talked to Brad a little, but dunno if he was really interested ’cause I’m always the one to IM him. But oh well. Posted a little on the Buzzlife message board, ’cause if you do 10 or most posts each week you’re entered to get a discount at DC clubs. Tomorrow’s gonna suck class-wise … have riding (not good ’cause it’s cold and rainy) and double Spanish. Ew. But then Thursday is awesome, so I guess it evens out. Definitely seeing 8 Mile on Friday — dunno if Brad and Neusha can come. Would be interesting if they did. Oh well … gonna check email now, so adios.

Thriller, The Calling.

Arrow Monday, November 4, 2002 @ 1:03 pm

Ooh look, it’s me and Brian at Thriller. That night rocked — click on the link above for more pictures by Ross (Brian’s friend).

And great, is The Calling gonna break up or something? I found this on someone’s personal site:

I keep forgetting to mention that Billy and Nate left The Calling. That band is totally falling apart. I’ve really started to lose interest in them. It was mainly because SO many people are starting to like them. They have all these teenybopper fans now and everyone knows who they are and it’s just no fun anymore. I liked it better when only the people in Birmingham knew who they were and we could just walk up to the venue 30 minutes before the show and get front row. I still think Aaron is a huge sweetheart and a totally awesome guy, but now that Billy’s gone, I just don’t think seeing the band would be that great anymore. Oh well.

Okay, The Calling’s awesome, why are they “falling apart” or whatever? Grr. I remember I used to listen to that CD 24/7 … I still do sometimes. It was like Brad music — especially “Wherever You Will Go”.

By the way, I talked to Dad earlier today, and we didn’t get the house — someone else who didn’t have to sell their current house first got it  He was disappointed, but hopefully he’ll find something else just as good. It sucks, ’cause it was a cool place.

List o’suckiness.

Arrow Sunday, November 3, 2002 @ 11:50 pm

Okay, blah … here’s the list of things that suck:

  1. microbiology
  2. the aftermath of the Tunnel
  3. college
  4. people not telling me stuff
  5. Lauren knowing all my guys
  6. Brad never being on
  7. Sarah expecting me to read her mind
  8. other things I don’t remember

Yeah … I hate when I have time to talk to certain people and they’re not on or don’t reply. Oh well … I’m going to bed. And the house dad and I looked at today was pretty cool — wonder if he’ll actually buy it. It’d be interesting if we moved again.

Oh yeah, and the rave on Saturday was awesome. There was a ton of people, guys blowing fire, good music, and people that actually talked to me. Yay. I need to go to more of those. Anyway, see ya. Gotta recover.

Silence isn’t always golden.

Arrow Friday, November 1, 2002 @ 9:26 am

Um, why won’t my sound work? I was downloading songs on Kazaa, and then I realize that the volume icon isn’t in my taskbar like it’s supposed to be. So I go and check the Control Panel, and all the settings for volume have been shaded out. WTF? And I’ve restarted twice. As far as I know, I didn’t do anything to the freakin’ computer. What’s wrong with it? *sigh* Maybe if I’m lucky it’ll randomly come back on … but who knows.
